No. Xbox One is not selling well.

The Xbox One at one point was consistently selling below 50k a week, dipping as low as 34k, and was even outsold by the Vita the week prior to that low point.

Within the last 2 gens, there were only 2 other consoles to sell below 50k in a week within the first year: The Wii U and Vita.

Yes, the Xbox One's sales numbers are squarely in the same category as the Wii U and Vita. That is not "well" by any definition.

The Xbox One outsold Wii U and Vita's first year months ago. Its numbers are not in the same category. 

Thats simply wrong. That Xbox had its lowest period in the early summer but its sales are superior to both Vita and Wii U. Its outselling them by a huge degree and will likely pass them both in the next few months despite their year head start. 

Better than the WiiU, the Vita and the last gen consoles.

This thread is in reference to the Xbox One's sales now, not overall. The console's sales were very front-loaded, and have dropped off significantly since then.

By aligning launches for each consoles' second year on sale, year-to-date (2012 for Vita, 2013 for Wii U, 2014 for XB1) The numbers are much closer together.

Vita: 2.3M, Wii U: 1.3M, XB1: 3M

Compare that to 7.5M for PS4, and 7 million for the 3DS

Both PS4 and X1 are selling better than I thought this Gen. I still think they will drop of way faster than last gen, but so far they are doing quite well.

I agree. I just don't see these consoles selling the same types of numbers as the last few gens.

None of them have the same mainstream appeal as prior consoles, like the Wii's motion controls and the PS2 being a DVD player.

Agreed, and I would be kind off glad if it wasn't longer than 5-6 years, I like new consoles :).
