Ironically whats more important is you can get 15% off and play 5 days early with ea access on xbox one.

How is that ironic?

Cause being cheaper and playing it early aren't as important as a slight differene in pixel count. Kinda sad these days cnsidering noone seemed to care when PS2 was 45% weaker than Xbox. All of a sudden its now iportant to certain people that didnt used to care. Strange hey?

The PS2 also release a year before... or did you conveniently forget that?

It's not strange, that's just the world we live in now. No one cared about the clarity or the high pixel count of the display on their phones. Now it's the main reason people upgrade. We're not in the 90's anymore. You're getting old, that's all what this means

I didn't have a 65" 1080p display in the PS2 days.

Beside this is not about favoring a console or saying resolution is more important  than x, y, z, but about enabling what's possible.

If I buy a more powerful GPU for my PC I expect it to run games better (faster fps / higher res / better effects) than a weaker one.  That's what it's developed for, and that's what I budgeted for instead of buying something else.

Some people pick a PS4 for their reasons, and others pick XB1 for their own reasons.  Ubisoft not taking advantage of the extra GPU in PS4 is a shame, and worse when they say they did it to "avoid debates and stuff" it makes a mockery of their PS4 customers who will buy more copies of the game anyway.

Action games generally sell better on PS, and Black Flag already sold a lot more on PS3/PS4 than X360/XB1, and Unity is PS4/XB1/PC exclusive making the PS4 the leading SKU for Unity by a mile.

Have you been living under a rock all these years? It has always been important. People have always boasted about the visual superiority of their hardware, the technical aspects of their games compared to others etc. Even during the 16bits era, People argued over the differences between the SNES and Genesis. Better colors and sound versus faster processing power (that fabled blast prossesing!!). And even before that, people were arguing that their console was the best for X or Y reasons while the PC crowd were saying the Commodore 64 was the shit and had the definitive version of Maniac Mansion, etc... The topic isn't "all of a sudden" poping up. It has always been a hot topic, and will most likely always be.

True dat!

Take notes Ubi! "Maximized for the potential of each platform" is a good attitude to have. I bet this will lead to less debate than Ubisoft's comments about wanting less debate...

It's really not maximized for potential when the current gen versions graphics are being held back by the previous generation.  The graphics look good, but they don't really look exceptional.  They need to develop all five versions of the game so I'm pretty sure they haven't been really pushing the boundries on what the current gen and PC could due thanks to the games also releasing on last gen consoles.

Cheaper is arguable, since it requires a subscription service. Playing it a few days early doesn't matter a whole lot, since you'll still be playing the same game and the definitive console version at that

what's definitive about one of the versions? Does one of them have extra missions or areas the other doesn't have? I havent read anything like that in any previews?

As for the ea access. So far its cost me 19.99 for 12 months. So far its saved me 65.00. I got 15% off fifa 15. Money off dlc content for fifa. Got bf4 free when it still costs 19.99 preowned. Need for speed rivals for free when it also is 19.99 preowned and if I want to buy dragon age I can get a further 15% off price as well as money off dlc.

If any gamer buys ea games the xbox one is amazing for ea titles.

Kind of a "no duh" move by EA.

Their response to Ubisoft's AC Unity statement is like SCE's response to the XBO reveal.

EA likes money. PS4 can generate more sales. Simple math here.

If Ubisoft likes money and MS isn't subsidizing potential losses, they should toe the line and optimize their titles for the PS4 to "avoid any debate."

your right some sad people have always argued about negligable differences. Ps2 was my console of choice in that gen because its games were great. It didn't matter that resi 4 had less detail etc. I still enjoyed it. It didn't matter That metal gear solid on xbox looked better. Etc etc. I owned an xbox because I got into halo. And while yes nothing on ps2 technically compared to it, it didn't remotely stop me loving the games. I didn't buy a gamecube cause resi 4 looked better graphically on it. I got one because of its exclusive games.

so I think its highly ironic some of the people going on and on about 40% console difference this gen being uber important to them, were likely ones enjoying 45% less power on their ps2s.

What does this show? The power talk is for internet fanboys and nothing more. Ps2 did just fine even its visuals were still beautiful by gens end. Same will happen with xbox one.

my point stands. Paying less and playing early is far more impressive than a few extra pixels.

I know. I paid the 19.99 for 12 months. Already saved 65.00. So any further vault games added and money off games and dlc is further savings. For ea games xbox one is a no brainer for people who love them.

1080p and you can play as a woman...
