It's not strange, that's just the world we live in now. No one cared about the clarity or the high pixel count of the display on their phones. Now it's the main reason people upgrade. We're not in the 90's anymore. You're getting old, that's all what this means |
I didn't have a 65" 1080p display in the PS2 days.
Beside this is not about favoring a console or saying resolution is more important than x, y, z, but about enabling what's possible.
If I buy a more powerful GPU for my PC I expect it to run games better (faster fps / higher res / better effects) than a weaker one. That's what it's developed for, and that's what I budgeted for instead of buying something else.
Some people pick a PS4 for their reasons, and others pick XB1 for their own reasons. Ubisoft not taking advantage of the extra GPU in PS4 is a shame, and worse when they say they did it to "avoid debates and stuff" it makes a mockery of their PS4 customers who will buy more copies of the game anyway.
Action games generally sell better on PS, and Black Flag already sold a lot more on PS3/PS4 than X360/XB1, and Unity is PS4/XB1/PC exclusive making the PS4 the leading SKU for Unity by a mile.
