I did see the Gaf thread, and they were mentions of shipped hardware. I guess we'd just have to wait for more confirmation.


So anything on GAF is true? Some would wish. Remember members like ethomaz are also posting there :)

Those people haven't been proven wrong "yet", EU down to 20k after Destiny week + price cuts where it was previously ~15k, Japan doing 1k, a 100k launch (even if it was sold through) can easily go down to a sub 5k baseline, plus a few Ks in ROW and you're looking at an overall baseline increase of maybe 15k which is what most people were saying or expected

I already know Gaf isn't the most reliable of sources, but I was just asking about it since I did see something there. I never believed what Gaf said as true. Just asking for confirmation.

Yes your sarcasm and calling people delusional earlier in the thread is adding so much discussion and is not off topic either. Nonetheless, he got a 1 day ban for his behavior but so did you last week for the exact same reason so I’m not sure where the elitism is coming from. Maybe just the let mods do their thing and leave him be?

OT: I'm actually kinda disappointed with the X1's launch. I expected a lot more sales, like 250k. 100k in one of the largest markets at launch isn't good enough imo

But how would you say it's a big market when there was none existant before? Sorry for you to be disappointed though, what was your hope again? 250k? Based on what?

bottom line is if MS sold 50K+ and 100K by the end of the year that is a promising sign.

100k shipped is not great. I also believe that the ps4 launch will do poorly there. Okayish 1st day numbers and then a prompt cratering. The iPhone 6 is also launching there in a week or so and will be THE holiday device that people save up for. 1m in a year for x1 or even x1 + ps4 combined is a complete fantasy for CN.

ms and the retailer sure know theire sold through numbers and preoders.

how is sony able to say they sold through 10m units? by using npd, gfk, internal and retailer numbers. 

its not spot on by 100 units, but its a very low error margin and way more accurate than vgc as example...
