As Thomas Hobbes said, Homo Homini Lupus.

One year is enough to create a deep bond, I probably would have done the same, mainly because it was just a kid.

So you killed multiple people who wanted to kill a single girl to safe the girl just so you could save yourself. That doesn't seem fair.

Just to let you know, you only have to shoot the surgeon, which is what I did. There's no need in killing the rest of the medical team.

It's still one death for 1 life vs 1 death for millions of lives.

There is no guarantee that the fireflies would have gone through with their role of "saviors." We can't save humanity by losing our own. Something  along those lines.

"Trick shot? The trick is NOT to get shot." - Lucian

Looking at it from retrospect I don't think it would of made a difference even if they got a cure. Do the fireflies have sufficient distribution methods or are they going to be targeting infected area by area? If it's the latter then that would take years & even then the infection could of evolved to be immune to the cure. Not to mention all the ravaging humanity has gone through, it would be hard to restart society to what it was.

One day humanity will almost die because of arbitrary morals invented by humans. But then nature will step in and will do the logical thing.

I don't know, I felt like I was doing the roght thing. I listened to the audio logs, and I think that Ellie was not the first 1 they dissected on.

The audio tapes were speaking of Ellie. Marleen had the same struggle as Joel (Marleen knew Ellie from birth) but came the a different conclusion. One tape is her appologizing to Ellie's dead mother for what she feels she has to do.

Signature goes here!

I struggled with this same question for a long time, but I always came back to agreeing with Joels decision for most of the reasons already listed. Normally I side with the logic of Spock but not this time. I'm also happy it was scripted and they didn't give you the choice. I feel it would have compromised the entire story.

The world > one person.
I didn't like the selfish way Joel acted, personally.

The needs of the many...

Yah so I think that the ending was spot on. I think I felt like Joel at that point lol. I was so attached to Ellie that I had a sense of urgency to get to her at the end. Did not even think about killing the doctors in the room. (Left behind solidified that fact).

What they don't show however is wether Ellie agreed to the operation (to die) and she flat out knows that Joel killed everyone.
