Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Convince me to buy Hyrule Warriors

Buy it or I will kill  this puppy.

Convinced?

My grammar errors are justified by the fact that I am a brazilian living in Brazil. I am also very stupid.

You can play as Zelda... Are you sold now?

           Survivor Millennial vs Gen X!!

It's my first Warriors game, so far I'm enjoying it. The fan service... great fairy's boobs...fan service great fairy's boobs is quite good!

Well if you are a True Zelda fan, you'd buy it. Plus Link, Zelda, Gannondorf, Ghirahim and Nayru never looked better, and it is the best looking game EVER to feature Zelda characters.

I also know that you can be in stages and find mobs based on past Zelda titles. That was the selling point for me. You can play either in the Skyward Sword, Ocarina of Time, or Twilight Princess timelines, and rumor has it they will add even more of these modes from past Zelda games.

What are you still doing reading this? Go buy it already!!

I really like the genre. It's actually very very fun to complete everything on hardest difficulty. The "repetition" I don't even feel since it's fun actually trying to do the combos and collecting stuff, and so I don't get bored until 100hrs pass.

Though.....I spent nearly 300hrs in Samurai Chronicles 3D alone because it was too fun! (And I started again )
Oh.....this is Zelda.....must have regardless!

Very simple, convince me to buy Hyrule Warriors. Two things you need to know:

  • I'm a hardcore Zelda fanboy
  • Never played a Dynasty Warriors game in my life
Go ahead

If you do not want try, do not buy it. If you want try, buy it. If you do not like, you will sell it.

If I end up buying the game it will be digital, so no re-selling option for me.

I have a general rule, if you ask if you should do something, you obviously want to, or you wouldn't be asking. You're just asking for approval from others to make sure your choice isn't a bad one.

So, we can infer that you want the game. The question now becomes "how much?" Since this isn't about eating another slice of pizza, it isn't so simple as saying "do it!" because it's $60.

IMO, you want the game but not enough to shell out full price for it. This leaves 2 options:

1) If patient, simply wait for a deal or price drop

2) If not, get it because you obviously want it

I'd get it. If you're a diehard Zelda fan like myself, you really should. It's delightful fanservice, and sure, the enemies aren't that smart when fighting you, but the point is that you get to feel like a badass as you mow them down. Haven't you always wanted to see Link looking like a badass? Well, more than he already is, I mean. Like near the ending of Skyward Sword. Say what you will about the game as a whole, that ending sequence where you're mowing down a hoard of enemies to get to Zelda was fucking epic. Then you follow it up with the epic boss sequence. Now imagine a whole game of that! The bosses in HW are much tougher than the common enemies. The common enemies are there to make you feel like a badass, while the bosses provide most of the challenge. The way they designed the boss battles in HW sounds like it'll be great for Zelda fans.

If you're really that worried about the gameplay regarding how easy it is for YOU to kill enemies, keep in mind that this game is also a strategy game. You're a badass, but the rest of your team isn't, but you've got to protect them. It's about strategically using your presence on the battlefield. Due to the enemy's sheer numbers, they can overwhelm your troops. If you just think you can mow down all the enemies yourself and not worry about the rest of your team, you'll lose. All the livestreams I saw during E3 of Hyrule Warriors showed the demonstrators (people who should know the game very well) losing over and over. It looked like they were doing fine, but they kept losing, because they weren't paying attention to the battlefield as a whole to see that the enemy was capturing strategic points so they could surround and siege the main allied base. I was rather astounded at how poorly they understood why they were losing.

This is more like a reason not to buy Hyrule Warriors.  If you're that hardcore of a fanas you claim then this may upset you.
