Forums - Nintendo Discussion - So I Finally Got Super Smash Bros. Brawl for Wii and...

I am a fan of the SSB games and I have played the first 3 but I have never owned any one of them so I had to go to GameStop today to get a gift so I thought: why not pick up SSBB? So I did and I played it for a while and I loved every bit of it. It is just a great game although it is not as fast as melee and all the technical moves cannot be fully implemented. I played in on my Wii U so I did not have to pull out any wires and my Wii stuff.

Oh and last but not least, im starting my training for SSBU since it has been a long time since ive played Smash so yeah thats about it. Oh and if you have any tips on Brawl technical moves feel free to share the knowledge since I am not a competitive player in that aspect yet I am super competitive in a winning aspect. Thank you!

Well brawl is good game, but for training.....NO. Smash Wii U has change drastically, is not like meele or brawl, and is very restricted. I recommend you to train with Smash Bros 3DS that's the closes game. Also for Brawl try to learn DACUS or DAC.

Yeah, Brawl is fun, but not for training. If you want to train, use the 3DS version to get used to the specifics of each moveset. That said, it might not hurt if you played Brawl on your original Wii, assuming said Wii has Gamecube controller ports and you have Gamecube controllers to practice with, and intend to get the Gamecube controller adapter for Wii U to use with Smash Bros. U. The GC controller is what the competitive scene will be using, so preparing with it, getting used to short hops with it and using the c-stick and what not that comes with the controller, should help you adjust to the physics and mechanics of Smash U a little more smoothly.

Project M, look it up.

Try playing Project M.

Bet with Xander XT:

I can beat more games on his 3DS than he can on my PSVita in a month. Loser has to buy the winner a game on his/her handheld Guess who won? http://gamrconnect.vgchartz.com/thread.php?id=193531

Me!

You should try Project M.

I wouldn't use Brawl for training! Why? Well, Smash Bros WiiU is much faster than Brawl and certain things like the ledge mechanics have been changed!

Isn't just ledge mechanics or speed, some technics that were in brawl are gone. This game probably has new technics so the best thing is to play the 3DS one, which is closer to how the Wii U version will play. Don't get me wrong there is a lot stuff in Brawl, but you cant use it on SSB4 or Melee, same if you play Melee you cant use some stuff in Brawl. I give you an example I train with Melee for Brawl, I am the best at Melee, we all know that Brawl is so different so I may play good but I will probably be better in Project M which is the closes game to Melee.

oo la ala!!! Nice one lol.

Also, train as Villager and Megaman in the Smash 3D demo, if your getting that version also.

Smash is a great game, just stay clear of the Story Mode...

Also for trainning, it's good for getting the basics down but thats about it. The other members are right about the Wii U version changing the mechanics of it...
