Only GTA V for Xbone/PS4 can outsell it really.

TLOUR too because due the userbase.

I think so. Halo MCC or GTA V.

GTA V on PS4/XB1 isn't an HD Collection. It was in HD to begin with.

No one accepts 720p as really HD anymore it seems.

So does this mean that Dead Rising 3 and COD Ghosts were not current gen HD on xbox1?

TLOU: R has sold what, 1.12m so far after nearly 2 months? I see it topping out at about 2.5-3m lifetime at that rate. Halo: MCC could sell 3m in it's first month if the rumors are true and MS has good Black Friday deals in the works, people will be wanting to get it before the Halo 5 beta starts in December and a good Black Friday deal is the perfect opportunity for that.

So MS doing amazing in BF reaching a userbase of 7-8 million with 3 million MCC sold? Yeap... it won't happen if it sold amazing in BF.

PS. Unless of course it is bundled free with every single Xbone sold in the holidays ;)

I think there should be no doubt that it will be the bestselling HD collection ever. The way preorders are tracking I could see it hitting 3-4m before the end of the year, let alone lifetime. If you look at Amazon's monthly charts since it's announcement at E3 it has been the single most preordered Holiday release (October-December) every month on any single platform (except for this month, where Super Smash Bros. 3DS and Pokemon Alpha Sapphire & Omega Ruby are ranked higher).

We don't really know exactly how many preorders it has gotten so far, so there is still some doubt. Also 3-4m seems too high, especially when the best-selling HD Collection so far has sold only a bit more than 2.5 million units.

It'll definitely sell more than GoW HD Collection.

That's easier said than done. No other HD collection has till date been able to do so.

I believe there's enough Halo fans out there to support and beat GoW HD sales with the hype of Halo 2 being remastered for the first time since it was on the original Xbox and also Halo 5 coming.  Surely MS will bundle the MCC as well along with tons of marketing.

But you could be right. 2.5m is quite a lot of sales for an HD upgrade.  Kind of makes me wonder if GoW sold as many as it did because it was the first to do an HD remaster.  I wonder what's the 2nd best selling HD remake game and how far off is it from GoW.

God Of War fans are very hardcore, so probably many wanted to play the games again in HD. As for the second best-selling remake, I think its Halo: CEA on 360, which has also sold above 2 million units. But that was at a time when 360 had a massive userbase.

You underestimate Halo's selling power if you don't think it can reach an attach rate of 37-42% at release, when most core Xbox fans are also Halo fans. Afterall, Titanfall reached a 32% attach rate 3 weeks after it released despite releasing on 2 other platforms, and Halo: MCC is a full exclusive.

Titanfall = new game... are you really suggesting me to compare a new game with a HD Collection in terms of sales? The potential of a new game is way higher than a collection.

Gears did 40% attach rate at launch.

The most close to MCC you have to compararison is Halo: CE... it did well maybe 2% attach rate at launch.

Not going to happen. The size of the installbase doesn't help either.

I never noticed but you must be right about that.  Looking at VGC sales of GoW 1,2, & 3  have sold just under 5m each.  Which looks like aroud 50% of GoW fans purchased the GoW HD collection.  Halo series games have sold much more than the GoW series so I wonder if even 30% of the Halo fans will step up and grab the MCC as well.

Since the highest selling HD collection is actually Sonic's Ultimate Genesis Collection (720p baby), I'd have to say......maybe.
