What's weird to me is they never apply this same logic to COD. If there is much to do in this game then how can COD get such high reviews cause the single player is trash and the multiplayer is not that great.

I never thought the day would come when I'd say this but: CoD is MORE balanced for PvP than Destiny. Destiny is an uncategorized trainwreck of samey-classes and Golden Pistols. One shot kills do not make a competitive game. One shot kills with aim-assist that stretches for miles on either side of your character do not make a competitive game. The multiplayer PvP is crippled and its longevity is limited because of many bad design choices.

At least Halo had the decency of not letting you load in with power weapons (fuck Halo 4, and thankfully they are doing away with all this stupid stuff come Halo 5). It amazes me that the same developing studio made this stupid critical mistake of giving everyone momentum ruining insta-kill moves. When you go on a killing spree, you want to die to a bad play on your part or when the whole other team ganks you, not because some ass-hat broke out his instagib bullet and shot in your general direction.

The slam and warlock ball are at least avoidable by jumping or strafing, the Golden Gun is downright broken.

I respect your opinion but I strongly disagree with your statement that PvP in CoD is better...

I'd say one of the big problems with Destiny's PVP is the always on Radar (unless that has been changed since the beta). How is that in any way a good idea? It removes any element of stealth or surprise from the game and makes it much more unidimensional...

Also. A warlock is built from paper so I can't tell you how many times I get one shorted by punches. And the sheild bubble is no joke. If you want to kill warlocks do it up close, and titans from far away. It's called strategy.

A lot of people say that hunters are overpowered, but I think it is because they play an important role in raid and need their abilities for the team for the overall strategy. I think it will take a while for the config to be totally balanced too but even a game like Starcraft from Blizzard is constantly being re-balanced out.

Lol see? I don't agree with that ether. Their perk attack is infuriating but the are very manageable from far away. But that's the thing. Everyone is saying that people don't agree on what's universal overpowered in the game so that's a sight that it's more balanced that most PVP games.

I finally got a chance to play Destiny (for about 6-7hrs)...

Keep playing. After about 6-7 hours I thought it was worth atleast an 8.

I'm level 22 now and... its deserves about a 7. Trying to get higher level equipment is tedious. The game actually gets arguably worse after level 20.

It promised too much but is really enjoyable a solid 8/10 for me, reviewers these days take narrative and story telling too much in account instead of gameplay and fun factor

I think the fault is with people that follow or care about reviews. People should always try the game for themselves based on their own instincts. How ofter you read/watch a movie review before you go to watch it?

Apply the same for games. Go on word of mouth, your own instinct, etc.

The only time I let reviews make me pay attention to something is when it is overly positive from wide spectrum and stays in discussion for some time for a game I wouldn't otherwise even try.

This. From levels 1-10 or so I would have rated it a 6 at best. Levels 11-20 or so, maybe a 7.5.

End game included, maybe a 7 tops. Its not designed well. They should have taken another page from Diablo and did the random rifts. Those things make Diablo still fun even after many hours.

But the point is not to get all the best gear in the first 20 hours :/ you have just enough to compete in PVP as well as raids to get better gear. It took me months to get the stupid custom camo in rainbow 6 Vegas, but when I got it finally it was so rewarding. The same idea here. The only complain I have is the cap on the crucible coins.

I was just about to write something like that when I saw your post.

When I started playing, I was shocked at poor scores, and thought that the reviewers are just picking on the game unjustifiably. Now that I've played for a while (still not finished with the story), I can certainly see their points and the validity of their scores.

I am not a reviewer, and I only grade one factor - my enjoyment - and the game is still a 9.5 in my book, but I agree and accept all the sixes and sevens and the 76 meta as valid and justified.

But 9.5 from me is because, 10 days in, I still itch and eagerly await for the kids to go to bed so I can fire up the game, and set my alarm half an hour earluer so I can squeeze in a couple of PvP matches before the day starts.
