Minecraft 2 console exclusive on xbox one will do wonders for the game system. I think that will be the best chance for Microsoft's xbox one to outsell ps4.

Given Minecraft 1 didn't keep the PS3 from catching up to the Xbox 360, not sure Minecraft 2 (the very name depresses me a little,) is going to herald a triumphant return. o.o That's even assuming Microsoft made that purchase solely to push its platforms, and doesn't want to make a profit as well; the likelihood of Minecraft 2 and associated titles making back that two and a half billion, let alone more, drops significantly if the games only become available on Microsoft platforms.

And considering WiiU didn't grabbed the same casual group of Wii, there is a great chance of Minecraft 2 doesn't convincing much people from giving up Minecraft 1, either because they are satisfied or because they just don't need much more... if they cared about graphics they wouldn't buy Minecraft, and unless they can make it alot more editable then they have no selling point... LBP have been a lot better on each iteration, but they didn't grow exponentially.

From 5.5M to 3.2M is a big drop even when being a better game.

And, as has been pointed out before, unless Microsoft plans on taking potshots at modders, any new features could presumably be 'borrowed' and built up as mods for the first Minecraft. Like, honestly, what would a sequel even look like?! o.o

I don't like Xbox, however, why people always forget that PS4 is in more regions than Xone?

At most they could up textures... and yes "robbing" all mods and putting together for the sequel would be the easy way out, but not sure if would sell much. And MS being a big company it will be more probable they will try to control modding and all to sell more DLC and will end up making a blunder.

Because X360 sold 85%+ of all it made on the 13 countries that X1 was launched at the same time... so all the other countries won't add much, and it was a MS decision... but for more insight on that visit

Who even cares if the Xbox One out sells PS4?

Uh, just about every Xbox fan before and during launch.  And then, again, when Titanfall launched.  Then, when the pricecut happened.  Then when they announced they were launching in China.  Then, recently, when it launched in more regions.

To be fair, though, most stopped caring once Titanfall failed to boost the One above the PS4.  Or at least they acted like or said they stopped caring.

No, I don't think "just about every Xbox fan" cared if Xbox One outsold the PS4.

I guess none of this guys cared right Vasto, NobleTeam360 and Wasulfunir?

Maybe they can survive and profit without outselling the competitor.

....and yet if you know why Microsoft is in the gaming industry, they did not come to be second to Sony. This is the reason they rushed the 360's development to outpace them (Causing RROD). They know they cannot beat them head to head. When Microsoft found out Sony was launching the PS4 they rushed the development to catch them within a months time and only managed to enhance the clock speed before launch. Its funny to know that Sony can make such a gigantic company blush.

Microsoft wants profit, but to them beating Sony is more important. Otherwise...they would have no reason to go on.

I didn't say no one cared. I said " I don't think about every Xbox fan cares"

Edit: AKA most Xbox fans don't care, but obviously a few do.

There are already a lot of PC mods that make Minecraft look like a "Minecraft 2". Long story short, there really is no point of making a Minecraft 2. You're talking about trying to convince several 10's of millions of people who are very satifisfied with Minecraft 1.

A Minecraft 2 would sell on PC and outside of PC. Microsoft isn't stupid. Their most successful most profitable IP and Devices outside of the Xbox and Xbox Live itself were purchased. 10's of millions of people also bought multiple iterations of Assassins Creed and Call of Duty. Microsoft only purchases what they think will sell, which is why their strongest fleet is basically composed of a handful of IP's.
