Forums - Politics Discussion - Former Auschwitz guard, 93, charged with accessory to 300,000 murders in Germany

While what he did was very long and I hope people like him gets punished and sent to jail for a very long time (if not for life)... Hes 93 loll. Hes gonna die soon anyway... I don't really see the point in charging someone so late in his life

What's the point? Can't we just let WW2 behind us already and move along? We have bigger fish to fry.

Official member of VGC's Nintendo family, approved by the one and only RolStoppable. I feel honored.

@ the baby part

That is fucking unnacceptable for a human being to do to another human. JEZUZ FUCKING CHRIST!!

That information just pissed me the fuck off! A baby though?

.. no fucking respect for the Nazi's or anybody who still tries to portray their image today in anyway, shape or form.

Ridiculous man..

Edit: I followed WW2 HARD so I thought I knew everything that went on around those times like the russian experiment where they kept a select few prisoners awake for 15 days and the horrors that happened in those 15 days.

God damn, the Nazi's just didn't give a fuck about anybody but themselves.

Makes you wonder what other horrific things took place in those times that we dont really know much about

If he was just a simple guard, what else could he have done but follow orders?

His crimes are disgusting and he should be punished, don't really care how long ago it happened tbh.

Yep, people are stupid to want to charge a simple soldier. Nobody talks about this side of the story, the soldiers were forced to do that, it was a " you are with me or against me " politic and when you have the choice of protecting your life and the life of your family, you do the logic choice.

The only thing that could be punished is unnecessary violence from some SS guards for pleasure

Predictions for end of 2014 HW sales:

 PS4: 17m   XB1: 10m    WiiU: 10m   Vita: 10m

He followed orders like any respectable solider. Between things like this and Angela Merkel I'm no fan of Germany.

He was a guard and did nothing though? Yes, he didn't help those who were being killed and just stood there and watched but he was forced to do nothing or be killed himself.

That's the thing. They were just following orders/doing their job. But there comes a point where you have to pay attention to wtf is going on around you.

If you worked at mcdonalds and your boss told you to put tacks in this spevific guys burger, what would you do? You take responsibility at some point.

I can imagine how much harder it would be back then for a german to get out of the Naxi regime. I would imagine that they would probably deem you as some type of traitor and kill you if you tried to stand up and stop them.

Actually.. I'm pretty sure this probably happened but we just dont know about it.. there's nobody really left to tell the untold syories of what went on then.

If I was a Nazi back then, I wouldn't have been able to become used to stuff like that. I would've attempted to quite or or made plans to GET THE FUCK OUT OF GERMANY if the situation arose to thst point

Sorry but you're comparing being shot or worse to getting fired from McDonald's. It's easy to sit here and say that you would have attempted something but I think it'd be tad more complicated if you were actually there.
