Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Digital Foundry: Hands-on with Bayonetta 2

I expected better in the FPS department. Can't say I'm not a little disappointed by that, but still looks like an amazing game! Can't wait to get my hands on it!

I bought a Wii U for this game, mostly, and so I can't wait!!!!

720p and not 60fps! I am certain some people in this site claimed its 1080p and 60fps. It's really embarrassing for Nintendo.

You know what, some of those frame drops occur when Bayo's "big fists" and "big kicks" land on enemies. When I played Bayo 1 on 360, those moves always felt like they had weight and I could never put my finger on why. I think I know why now... I'm not feeling too bad now. Actually, I shouldn't: Bayo 2 almost didn't happen at all.

I claimed it was sixty but never 1080p. In my opinion, frame rate > resolution but that's just me.

Who claimed it was 1080p?

Anyways, i expected 720p since that is the standard they're going for in WiiU games. 720p native, 1080p output. As for the framerate, i now see what Platinum meant when they talked about using graphical techniques to give the "feeling of 60fps". The only consistent 60fps games we're going to see this gen is Nintendo's own in-house games, it seems.

I can't wait to play Bayo 2: I want to see for myself how it "feels"

That's unfortunate. I expected 720p / 60 fps, but ehh!
Still getting the game of course!

:D

But on a serious note: Yes, only crazy people would say: "Oh, it's dipping into 40fps, so i'm not gonna buy Bayonetta!". Most who play it will think its consistently 60fps, so it really doesn't matter if it dips here and there.

I also prefer fps over resolution. But in case of bayonetta 2 its not even solid 60fps. So there is no option left.
