EDIT: I'm quite surprised to see no mention of Dark Souls 2 whatsoever. I don't think I'd give it my GoTY, but it'd probably be on my Top 5.

If a last gen port wins GOTY, the award should be officially disolved imo. Great game, but it's a port. A port is a port.

LBP3 has the most chance, well Dark Souls 2 as well.

Oh wow, I honestly had no clue before now that LBP3 wasn't Media Molecule developed. Yeah that definitely changes its GOTY prospects. May not even get in to the noms.

Yeah: Naughty Dog broke promises.

GTA 5 sucked.

Last generation's GotG was Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. That and I'm not prepared to forgive Naughty Dog for not delivering what was shown at E3.

For people saying Dark Souls 2 is 2014's GotY, I can't agree or disagree since I've never played it but I think the following video should be required viewing for fans:

Don't think LBP3 has a chance. The series has had amazing creation tools that have propped up quite average platforming. Don't think creation tools alone make GOTY. I honestly have no idea what will win this year, might not even be a general consensus with each site giving different GOTYs.
