If you look at weekly software sales, then the PS3 software to PS3 ltd ratio (in UK) are higher than the same ratio for x360.

X360 91,128 (+10%) N/A
PS3 64,550 (+24%) N/A

PS3 and 360 total sales as of the same date:

PS3  
5,931,923
X360

8,903,416

So to find the ratio of weekly software sales, to total userbase we do:

PS3:     64550   :   5931923  =  0,010881.... or ~ 1,088 %. It's sort of a 'weekly attachrate' meaning how much the weekly sales vs total platform sales are.

X360:     91128    :    8903416 =  0,010235....or ~1,023%.

So the PS3s weekly software sales are higher compared to it's userbase than the 360s.

 

Granted, this changes every week, but the PS3 is more often ahead than the 360. I'm not saying that the attachrate drop is bigger, just that the current weekly attachrate is more often than not higher on the PS3 than on the 360.

What's so funny? It shows that a higher percentage of PS3 owners are buying games versus x360 owners.

Edit: The PS3s ratio is 6% higher than the 360s.

If you really want to then you can continue to just "lol" at facts when they're presented to you, but it doesn't make you look good.

Okay, I can't believe I bothered to do this, but here is PS3 YTD software sales: 2957738

Here's 360: 4595703

Ratio for PS3: 2957738 : 5935295 = 0,4982204....~49,82%

Ratio for 360: 4595703 : 8906171 = 0,5160133....~51,60%

 

So the 360s attach rate for this entire year is higher than the 360s, I'll give you that. By less than 2%. Hardly anything to make a big fuzz out off, and claim that PS3 owners are less satisfied with their console.

Ofcourse I use VGC for this. What other tracker should I use?

X360 - 3,666,000/8,906,171 = 0.412 attach rate YTD

So the PS3 actually has the better attach rate YTD.

Okay, I used VGC figures (I literally added all the weekly sales for both platforms. Can't believe I bothered!).

But anyways, this proves my point. And this isn't VGC so now he can't complain.

That's quite surprising considering by how much the 360 leads the PS3 in the UK.
