Dragon Quest Heroes for PS4/PS3 Gets First Screenshots, Chara Design by Akira Toriyama and a Surprise
Square Enix and Sony Computer Entertainment shocked Japan with the announcement of the return of the Dragon Quest franchise to PlayStation Platforms with the action JRPG Dragon Quest Heroes, and the latest issue of Weekly Shonen Jump included a special page with some goodies.
First of all, it includes the first screenshots of the game, and the revelation that character design and part of the art will still be handled by Dragon Quest veteran and Dragonball creator Akira Toriyama.
Secondly, we get the first information about the game’s four main characters, Act, Meer, Julieta and Dirk. Apparently Act and Meer are playable characters, providing both a male and a female hero option.
We also get a surprise, as Terry from Dragon Quest VI and Dragon Quest Monsters will also make an appearance in a yet unspecified role.
Finally, we learn that the story revolves about an army of demons suddenly attacking a peaceful kingdom.
Below you can check out a scan of the page translated by our Griffin Tatum. Since the screenshots are fairly small (the one on the top right is actually an illustration/render, while the others are screenshots), you can click on it to see the full resolution version.
