Forums - Nintendo Discussion - WiiU Overtracked on VGC? ioi (Confirmed Overtracked)

A Dedicated thread for this rather than derailing threads any further

As others have pointed out the Wii U is tracking is unusually close to the last known shipped numbers.

Wii U

Nintendo global numbers through June 30: 6.68 million
VGC global numbers through June 28: 6.60 million

end of June we have a difference of 60k between shipped and sold, from Mediatecreate/Famitsu we know that 40k of that is in Japan. Leaves 20k for the rest of the entire world.

This would be 80k Units on shelves which is highly unlikely. So the question is, is it overtracked?  If so, by how much?

ioi, if you're reading this, it should be fixed

Updated:  As of today 10/29/2014 it has been confirmed that WiiU is indeed overtracked with  Nintendo Shipping 0.61 for the quarter.  As of this moment VGC has WiiU Sold more than it has Shipped.

Weren't these the global numbers shipped as of the FY2013 close? As in, on June 30, they reported their global shipments as of FY2013 close, which happens at the end of march.

I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

Yep, but not more than 100,000-150,000.

This is why I just wait to hear about their financial reports to get a good idea at where they are standing.

No, these are numbers through June 30.  They were reported on July 30.

The difference is actually more like 60k (June 28 vs. 30), most of which is in Japan alone...So we're maybe looking at 10k on shelves globally minus Japan, with a console selling 50-60k a week...

The One and Only

VizionEck.com

wi u :80k on shelves in over 50 territories
xb1: over 1m on shelves in just 13 territories

im i doing it right?

seems legit

I'm just waiting for their next financial reports. I find it tiring arguing over something that cannot be proven for a long time.

I don't think it is, if so, not by much and the Ninty reports will give a great number anyway.

Updated with this : THough im not taking credit for this info as someone else told me
