I'm pretty sure if you removed every game that was also available on the WiiU/PC/PS3/X360 (or just the WiiU if you want to keep it to 8th Gen), every game that is a remaster (all 1 of them), and didn't count indies, the length of both lists would be nigh-identical and short. |
Which would be a totally useless analysis because to a console owner all that matters is the games on their console not what their neighbor has on theirs.
The X1 has more fully exclusive retail games. And we all know that's what counts.
If you demand respect or gratitude for your volunteer work, you're doing volunteering wrong.

Agreed.
CGI-Quality said: Sure, if you want to start playing particular tactics and moving goalposts, go for it. This would also mean having to remove games such as Titanfall, for example. It would be grasping at best and down right bullsh*t at worst. |
Not really moving goal posts, I am trying to illustrate why "list wars" are pointless.
I mean, you did just say, yourself, "if only X" and then I added "if only X+Y" on perfectly valid grounds. Fact of the matter is, people don't buy consoles for a LIST of games, they buy consoles for games that they like and, more often than not, a library of actual exclusive AAA games.

Cared enough to post. ;)
No troll is too much for me to handle. I rehabilitate trolls, I train people. I am the Troll Whisperer.
CGI-Quality said: People buy consoles for games that are available for it. What the OP has isn't part of some "listwar", it is a factual account of what is available on each machine. Removing anything from this list that belongs there is nonsense. |
Uhh... I'm almost 100% I said that exact same thing. In fact, I know I did.

Yup, I did! Except I made a very specific and important clarification: people buy consoles for games they like not lists of games, and they most certainly buy them for AAA exclusives. The number of games isn't going to matter to Mr. Halo who wants to play Halo. They won't matter to Mr. Uncharted. They won't matter to Mr. Mario.
This is a list. Means about as much as my grocery list.
That's really impressive !
Much better launch than the PS3, that was......

Chart supports the logic behind the sales trends, not that most people look at this type of comparison when choosing to buy one over the other.
People can choose to attack the data, but that doesn't change the sales figures.
