Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Could This Actually Work? The "New 3DS/XL" become a Gamepad Substitute for the WiiU? Thus Making a $150-$200 Gamepad-Less SKU for WiiU in the future?

Hope so, I would be able to get a Wii U and a 3DS for the price of 1. I'd have to buy a pro controller so I could use the Wii U if somone is using the 3DS

It makes sense to me. Lower entry point for console gaming for 3ds owners is a win in my book



I predict NX launches in 2017 - not 2016

I don't think it can replace the gamepad but I wouldn't be surprised to see some sort of connectivity between Wii U and New 3DS.

I don't think the communication between the 3DS and the Wii U would be streamlined enough for this to be feasible. Remember, the Gamepad's latency is practically nonexistant.
