Simple question. Will virtual reality be the primary way to play, or will we be gaming on 8K TVs? Which console manufacturers will still be around? Will physical media continue to exist? Will filthy mobile casuals overrun the business and kill off console gaming? 

Will VGChartz still exist?

Feel free to bump this in 20 years.

OT: Hopefully console gaming is alive, Ninty, Sony, MS and some new player joins the fray. New ways to play, new experiences to have... the question is.. with you and I still be gaming? I'll be in my forties... not sure if I'll be gaming at that age. Damn... kinda opened up a whole new bag of worms. lol.

Games will just be an ultra realistic sequence of cutscenes. You'll have to click or push a button to progress in the story. If you want to know how's the rest of the game, you'll have to spend $30 on the second half of the game, which consists on more near real life cutscenes and 3 disappointing alternate endings. Here's the catch: there will be no gameplay. Just mind blowing graphics.

Can we hope to make a full dive like in SAO?


Honestly, i think there will be no PS/Xbox. You will just use smart TV to play a game that is going to be streamed to you. There will be no need for you to buy a hardware, what will make any TV a potential consumer. It's like having a 20 Billion userbase. VR as we know it (Occulus Rift like) will be a dead fad.

Nintendo may have a console, just because they are stubborn =P. I have no doubt in my mind that Nintendo will be the last to go "third".

In 1960s people thought human race will be living in Mars and lots of things in 2000. TBH I wont be surprised if gaming remains quite same as of today. And PS now or game streaming might fail big time if internet service provides put more restrictions like data cap, certain bandwidth etc.
