I had to create an account to play Mass Effect 3, but besides that I haven't touched it again.

This but for Mass Effect 2.

I don't even have a clue what my id is.

Same for my Uplay account except I have 2 games for it.

I have it. But never really use it. It's only used as a game launcher for me when I play sims or something. I don't even care about the free games.

For Mass Effect 2 I had to create a Bioware account, which later turned out to be my Origin account.

Please excuse my bad English.

Currently gaming on a PC with an i5-4670k@stock (for now), 16Gb RAM 1600 MHz and a GTX 1070

Steam / Live / NNID : jonxiquet    Add me if you want, but I'm a single player gamer.

Ah yes it was a Bioware account, but it definately mentioned Origin when signing up (if you bought the game earlier than me maybe they moved/linked Bioware to Origin later?)

Yep, they merged both things when EA launched Origin.

Both "stores" still have different looks, but they are related one with the other.

I don't use it that much because it doesn't do as nice a job of tracking my hours logged like Steam does

But I also don't actually play that many PC games

Unlike others, I really don't have much of a problem with it. I can deal with it fine, especially as Steam does have a really terrible interface

Munkeh you say you dont play on the PC but you also have no issues with Origin, I'd say those 2 things could be related :)

As for Origin accounts tho, everyone seems to have one but the majority of them are made like when Google wanted people to make Google+ accounts so they could comment on youtube vids.... if you force people into doing something then you're going to make them not like it, always happens.

I have origin but I don't use it. I got it for BF3 and then I got this 17 in one command and conquer games which I found was all digital which annoyed me. But I never use it. I only log into it once ever two years just so that don't terminate my account and I don't lose my games because yes, after two year, they delete your account and you lose it. Don't believe me? Look it up in their terms and use, not sure if they changed that so it won't do that but knowing EA, they won't change it.

Well it's clearly not offensive. If I want to play SimCity (yes I liked it!), starting it and playing the game is just as easy as compared to Steam, maybe easier. Steam is a terrible piece of software in so many ways, even simple things like the way it always seems to be updating

I should point out I do play on my PC, but it's more in bursts, without the same frequency as me playing on PS4

well steam has UI updates about once or twice a month I think at most so perhaps you just encounter an update every time you use it if you regularly don't use it for periods, as for games updating and patching.... I love that aspect of steam, far better imo than having to wait until you launch a game to find out there is a patch you need to download to be able to access the online area of the game like on the ps3. Should be noted too btw you can configure steam to not auto update your games if you have a poor connect or a download limit, I don't game often on the PC either if I'm honest (just WoW) but still I think the way steam handles game libraries is fairly nice.
