Forums - PC Discussion - 92% of all game sales on PC are digital

PC gamers dont have much of an option, there is a reason I dont pay more than $10 for any games on PC. This number probably includes mobile sales cause those are PCs as well.

Well, they should include consoles too since those are PCs as well in that case!

Make sense. I'm also buying all Xbox One games digitally now. My kids and my wife can play everything on the "main" console while I have my console in my gaming room all for me :)

Ehhhhh, they arent, and I am not sure why, but when Apple said they were they number 1 PC retailer a year or 2 ago it was cause they included all IOS devices(therefore they ousold Dell/HP PCs).

Getting an XBOX One for me is like being in a bad relationship but staying together because we have kids. XBone we have 20000+ achievement points, 2+ years of XBL Gold and 20000+ MS points. I think its best we stay together if only for the MS points.

Nintendo Treehouse is what happens when a publisher is confident and proud of its games and doesn't need to show CGI lies for five minutes.

It's been going in this direction for a long time. I remember mid-way through last console gen, analysts were estimating it to be around 60% of PC sales were digital. Now it's 92%!

Compared to phones they are. Consoles are closer to PCs than phones are. Consoles use x86 architecture (same as PS4/One) and equivalent hardware.

And no, this doesn't count phones or consoles.

Probably a very accurate number. I have about 115 games on Steam, and only 1 game on a physical disc (Starcraft II).
So in my case, it's actually 99% digital :)

I always laugh when people say that PC gamers don't buy games. Truth is that PC gamers are game hoarders. PC gamers thanks to different types of bundles, sales, etc buy games that they in most cases never play.

i don't believe it. no way retail makes up a full 8% of the market.
