Forums - Sony Discussion - Sony Comments On Lack of AAA Titles For PS4: "Perception Issue, 2015 Great For Core Players & More"

Exactly. I played both Diablo 3 and Last of Us last year and was plenty excited to get improved versions with extra content on PS4. And even though I owned a 360 and PS3 I never played Injustice until I got it on PS4.

I think bottom line here is people are going to bitch no matter what. And most of these anti-Sony arguments are automatically assuming the worst case scenarios as the only scenarios. Clearly 10 million people wouldn't buy a PS4 if they had no desire to play any of its games.

People always say most of them are anti Sony, that most of them are just fanboys bashing the console.  Your preferred console is getting complaints, of course you're going to throw the "they must be a fanboy" card.  There's a lot of Playstation fans that are disappointed in the matter at hand.  It's not just fans from other consoles.

The Wii U has sold like crap and it hasn't had this amount of bashing because the Wii U has had a better lineup if you compare the length of time both consoles have been release.  People saying the Wii U had no games back then.  The first nine months of the Wii U is like a gold mine compared to the PS4 right now.

Everyone else can say there is nothing but Uncharted coming up but not all of us grade things based on their prior selling power.

For me I am excited as all hell for The Order, Bloodborne and Until Dawn. I also want to see more of this new Silent Hills.

So hyped to see so much horror genre. In films it is easily my favorite genre. I grew up a Friday The 13th, Nightmare on Elm Street, Halloween, etc... fanatic. I still watch these movies yearly.

iPhone = Great gaming device. Don't agree? Who cares, because you're wrong.

Currently playing:

Final Fantasy VI (iOS), Final Fantasy: Record Keeper (iOS) & Dragon Quest V (iOS)

Dont worry. It is similar to what the music industry dealt with. You have "indie" bands. I have more fun seeing bands like Broken Bells (indie rock right the same as child of Light is Indie), New Pornographers, St. Vincent, The National, Black Rebel Motorcycle club, Kurt Vile etc. Bands labeled "indie" only because they arent stadium rock and play smaller venues they are perceived as "less" the same as indie games are perceived as "less". Then bands like Arcade fire (like minecraft) come out and transcend indie and arena rock, rare but standouts.

Eventually, just like the music industry, we will have high quality "indie" games on smaller budgets (smaller venues) where people who "get it" will have way more fun than the bozos seeing coldplay and nickelback in arenas. Where the same as indie bands are actually signed or touring on the back of large company subsidiaries via WB or BMI, "indie" games are going to be funded and held afloat to be profitable by larger companies.

Just like music, "indie" games and "indie" concerts can be just as long and are in my opinion more enjoyable than AAA and stadium rock. You get more concerts (games) and dont have to whine and complain for the one show a year because you only want to see U2, Nickelback, coldplay or Kings of Leon.

Open up, enjoy games and stop being stupid.

In Brazil we have Velhas Virgens almost 25y on the road and never were played on radio or TV... They even made their own seal to release their music and other bands.

But Indies just mean they don't have a publisher backing then (in VG as in music they don't have a big BGI or any other company) there isn't anything related to quality, size or budget.

Man you are talking BS... WiiU drought was very clear... PS4/X1 may already have more AAA content than WiiU even being half the time on the market... you can at most say WiiU have more 1st parties. And even then I remember people saying that no AAA 1st party come on WiiU for like 8 months.

Yeah, I didn't say anything about Fanboys or the Wii U. It is very clear though a lot of the "Sony has no games" arguments are coming from people who are just trying to dump all over the console no matter what. And from the way these arguments are being presented as "this is the god's honest truth, end of discussion." And not as the opinions they are, sure, I feel the need to counter them with my own.

Who having a gen 7 and 8 would buy a cross-gen on last gen for the same price? Even if everything but pixels were the same the 8th gen would be the obvious choice unless your last gen is ps3 and you want to play mp for free (but if you like MP and have a ps4 sooner or latter you will have to sign ps+).

So yes just pc owners can complain about lack of exclusives (but then he is mandated to have all ninty consoles for the great exclusives, ps1,2,3 and X og and X360 because they all had great exclusives) if any of those system aren't owned cut the crap and just say those 1-4 games you like aint available yet.

I actually own all those systems, if you were referring to me. I also own all the current gen consoles, so yes, I have a pretty decent idea of what constitutes a lack of must-have exclusives.

No I wasn't because I know you and Jizz altough not Sony fanboys appreciate several sony games) from the 3 I think you are more pro Sony and Jizz pro ninty). Was talking in general because of pretenders. You have all the right to say KZ, Knack and ISS don't justify your purchase or of other PC gamers even more if the 3 exclusives aint your cup of tea. But to say that there is a drought in an ample manner for all gamers is inacurate.

Oh alright, gotcha. Yeah, I definitely agree that a lot of people will love the exclusives that are out on either console right now. For the people that didn't have access to a gaming PC there are tons of excellent indies to try out, and for the people that didn't own a PS3 last generation some really good remakes/remasters are out as well.

If I came across as sounding like I was speaking for every gamer, I apologize. Everything I said was just my preference, many people will have loved this year's lineup.

                                                                                                               You're Gonna Carry That Weight.

Xbox One - PS4 - Wii U - PC

I usually don't expect many big titles in the first months of a console's life

No problem man... I understood you were saying about your preferences, mainly because I know you don't downplay sony for giggles... Sometimes we confound opinion, prefference and fact and sometimes we think other people are giving one of them but we are the wrong one.

I just got a trophy for making a guy a scarf out if his own large intestine. I take it back, Surgeon Simulator is alright.

Maybe Sony should make Lair 2 for these people, and force them to play it until they die.
