Forums - Nintendo Discussion - Will Third Parties Try with the Wii U After Smash 4 Releases?

What would SSB have to do with third party games?

I expect some games from Ubisoft as they are ransoming already completed titles for the console. Outside of that I don't expect much. It takes 18 months to 2 years to make a game. Smash's momentum will be LONG gone by then unless Nintendo has a lot of unexpected hit titles following.

i believe so, but not the next gen exclusives.

but i wouldnt bet on next gen exclusives, but if a miltiplat also cames to ps360, it will be on wii U after a bigger install base due smash bros.

I'm gonna go out on a limb and say hell no.

Nope, nothing will change.  For games not in development now, it would be years at least for a quality game to come out.   Even if Smash did interest 3rd parties to develop.

It isn't a case of being "Too late", It's just that Wii U isn't powerful enough. I'd definitely be getting support at this point if it were just as powerful.

No, there is always an excuse.

Wii U is never going to be anything other than a niche device. If there are more third party titles in the pipeline, they'll either be the titles Ubisoft are sitting on, co-developed titles initiated by Nintendo, or family friendly stuff like future iterations of Just Dance, Skylanders and Disney Infinity.

No. 3rd parties are slow in making desisions, so their support for this generation is already fixed in place. Maybe some japan 3rd party games and some exlusives bought by Nintendo, but I wouldn't expect much...
