So what? It was the USA that started the turmoil in Kiev and sent snipers and all.
The devil government just wants to get rid of the biggest force opposing them.

Speaking serious, of course its not so simple. But the current sanctions are quite OKeyish fro Russia and wouldnt hurt it. And in the same time Russia can just stop Boeing production in USA if it stop selling some titan spare parts for it. So currently it is just a testing, everything can go much worse and fast.
This whole thing has escalated much quicker than I expected. Worrying signs.

Russia is in need to sell their oil and gas .. it is their main income. They even delivered thoughout the whole cold war.

implying it hasn't been the agressor since last year...

Yeah, how can a country consider a neighbouring country that has strong ties with millions of the local population as strategic to its own interests?
That is the privilege of countries like the US and other european countries that are 1000s of kilometers away and thus actually give a damn if the country is going down the toilet. Only they are allowed, no, wait, they are FORCED to try to influence the policy of this country! But only for humanitarian reasons, of course! As always!
Annexation goes against everything the UN was established for, These sanctions that Russia, US and the EU are imposing upon one another are a means of influencing the public opinion through hardship among other things.
The situation in Ukraine is not over and if it were to take a turn for the worse then where do we go from there?
