With the upcoming release of Pokemon Omega Ruby and Alpha Sapphire, many Pokemon fans are in an uproar. I too am very excited but I want you guys to tell me if you think Nintendo will release another Pokemon generation remake on 3DS or if they'll wait for the next handheld (or whatever they do next) to release it. And obviously the next generation would be the Sinnoh region, Diamond, Pearl, and Platinum. Probably would just release Pearl and Diamond. Also, I think it will come out somewhere around 2017 because looking at Poke remakes, the dates are as follows (using NA release dates)

Pokemon Red/Blue/Green-1998

Pokemon FireRed/LeafGreen-2004 (6 years later)

THEN

Pokemon Gold/Silver-2000

Pokemon HeartGold/SoulSilver-2010 (10 years difference)

AND NOW

Pokemon Ruby/Sapphire-2003

Pokemon AlphaRuby/OmegaSapphire-2014 (11 years later)

So I'm predicting that the Sinnoh remakes will be out anywhere from 2017 (10 year anniversary) to 2020 (13 year anniversary). You guys tell me what you think

No hopefully not. I'd rather just have 6th gen (X,Y), 3rd gen remakes (Alpha, Sapphire), Z, and then the 7th gen to top off the 3DS. I'd rather have the 4th gen remakes for the next handheld.

I think we see Sinnoh remakes on the next platform.

I don't think so.. I think the Sinnoh remakes will come out for the next Nintendo handheld, probably 1-2 years after the handheld's launch..

Also... this begs the question. Do you, or anyone else think the next Nintendo handheld will be backwards compatible with DS games? I'm hoping it will for 3DS, but not so sure for DS games.

They will likely wait until the next handheld for next as been the case for all the other remakes, one per generation of handheld. Also RBGY came out in 1995 originally not 1998 OP.

I think the Gen IV remakes will be released at Nintendo's new handheld's launch.
