Overall Thoughts: Overall I enjoyed this season a lot. I think I ended up finishing 8 shows overall, and while a few were kinda meh, it did a much better job keeping my interest than the last few seasons, and I haven't even watched everything I was interested in yet.

My MHA hype was too great to surpass, but a few anime got very close. Restaurant to Another World was something I enjoyed coming back to every week, and had a clever ending I wasn't really expecting. Tsurezure Children was always enjoyable to watch, and even though there were like 20 characters to keep track of, the individual stories were super cute. Glasses/Blondie and Brown Hair comedy duo were my favorites.

Gamers! ended up being my favorite comedy, but I felt the last few episodes hurt it a bit overall. First eight episodes were fantastic, and I couldn't get enough of it for a while. I love that dumb needlessly convoluted sitcom humor where characters are constantly in their heads and completely misunderstanding the situation. I think what hurt it was the introduction of the love triangle around the MC, which, while predictable, hurt the comedic pacing quite a bit. Chiaki (Desu Desu Desu) was a much funnier character when she was observing the other relationships, rather than trying to insert herself into one of them, and her sister was just an awful human being that I wanted to punch in the head towards the end. I really don't get if Japan just likes this cucholding type humor or whatever, but watching one girl ruin another girl's date, while the other girl just simply lets it happen politely, is completely unfunny and terrible. The final episode was pretty good at least...kinda clever that they used what was essentially an OVA to discuss DLC. The fanservice was a bit too extreme though.

Overall, MHA was still my AOTS, and I was impressed with both the Stain fights and the final exam arc (even if I preferred the pacing of the latter in the manga). Nice to see this anime get so much hype this season, it's definitely a series that deserves it. Definitely excited for season 3...even if I know the likely season ending will kill me.

Akagi is a great choice...too bad Dog was so awesome and edged him out for me.

Dog was amazing not gonna lie, but akagi is a boss. His part in ep 1 was the reason i just stuck with the show, I looked forward to his ship every time until takano and sugawara just became so cute that they just ran straight to the front of the leaderboard for me in terms of ship. I just wish she had more confidence... come on takano you're right there, you're legit right there!

I really only watched 2 anime this season (not counting the ongoing YGO Vrains, which is greeeaaaat). I'll binge Symphogear AXZ later.

But I really enjoyed the ones I watched, Centaur no Nayami was a great surprise, it goes really in depth with its lore and world building making for a very interesting sort of SoL anime that isn't afraid of showcasing some of its themes. Props to the opening, reminded me of Jojo with the references to the arcs it was adapting, even if the ecchi felt out of place, including the ecchi part of episode 12, tho the song could have been better. My favorite ED of the season tho.

And Princess Principal, I'm quite a fan of badass ladies focused shows (more so when they are gay af about it) , giving me El Cazador de la Bruja vibes, it excels at its style, with a great atmosphere and beautiful soundtrack by my girl Kajiura, with an entertaining and strong cast and a great way of telling its story through the non cronological order of the episodes with their feels heavy moments thanks to a great direction, made for one memorable show (And the Ange x Princess @_@). My AOTS with one hell of an opening theme.

I highly recommend you give either show a try.

Next season my most anticipated show is Yuuki Yuuna is a Hero Season 2.

I'm just waiting for symphogear to end before I give my overall thoughts on the shows I watched this season. It was my first time watching anime that way so I'm excited to share, and it's been fun reading some of the comments here.

Was curious how Shiga's famous smile in MHA would turn out. It was nice and well-animated...but still doesn't hold a candle to the original IMO.

I suppose it's hard to compare...the manga image looks like something from one of Cloud's horror manga.
