Forums - Gaming Discussion - How big of a win is Destiny for PS4?

To me it is similar to Call of Duty situation last gen that established the 360 as the dominant platform for the dominant genre. Sony is using Destiny to make a big push to win that label over and become shooter fans default console. It seems like there is some hype and I expect the PS4 version to easily be the best selling version and keep the console ahead in North America which seems to be the battle ground region.

Reminds of all the Sony fans hating Halo and bashing it but are eating up Destiny. It's pretty funny lol

And this is why you can't say it's a big win. In reality, it's gigantic win.

Like I said to someone else. I disagree and will have to agree to disagree with anyone on that subject as I'm not going to consider it a ''big win'' just because other people feel that way lol

its a huge win for sony. the way the bundle is tracking right now, september NPD will be a slaughter. If its online attention is also taking place in retail stores.. NPD could be over 600k for ps4

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

Timed exclusivity is not a win for Sony. When Sony's fleet of new IP's and known exclusives come around the expectations will go back to normal.

I remember Sony saying that they will have an exclusive relationship with Activision about Destiny for many years which means exclusive content for Destiny 2 etc. That means Sony will have the best Destiny experience for many years.

That white PS4 is the biggest win for us, simple beautiful.

Agreed! Really need somebody to buy my black one.

It's a massive win and will ensure pretty that this gen has ready been won by Sony. Sony is showing you really don't need the small Japanese console market to win big. Western games are the future now. Giving the masses what they want as with ps1 and ps2

It won't only be a big win. It will also mark a good first year for the console. A good start for the PS4, while there's more to come.

I guess you could say...The Best Is Yet To Come

if it was exclusive, then id say it was a big win, but since its not, i cant bring myself to say ''big win for ps4''.

White PS4's are pretty sexy though

360/xboxone beta started today,  compare the buzz between ps and xb fans,  its like night and day,  almost feels like the xbox fans are so salty about the ps favoritism by bungie that they cant bring themselves to like it.

Reminds of all the Sony fans hating Halo and bashing it but are eating up Destiny. It's pretty funny lol

Seems like you are trying to downplay it by twisting the situation. Halo has absolutely nothing to do with this. Cause PS fans could hate halo all they want but they went into buying a PS knowing there will NEVER be a halo game on their console.

If this weren't a new IP, I would say a better example would be GTA4 on the 360. With all that exclusive DLC. But Destiny isn't GTA4. What is really big here is Bungie. This would have been the equivalent of Naughty dog leaving sony then going multiplatform and favoring MS with their new IP. Or polyphony digital dropping the GT franchise and going multiplat then making Project cars but with XB1 favoritism.

Everyone that knows XBOX knows Bungie. We can say the xbox brand was built on the shoulders of bungie. MS literally lost the biggest, best and most profitable developer and now it seems that said developer is laying its lot with sony. That can't be good. The studios behind MS two biggest games have changed. Halo and Gears. Can you imagine how bad it would be for MS if Halo turns out to be a flop?

Calling it a HUGE win for Sony would be an understatement
