Actually since earlier than 2014, and probably until after 2020 as the next generation of consoles would need some time after their comeback to pick up in sales IF they ever do a comeback...

 

 

The evidence :

 

This gen, PC are outshining consoles in performance, with 3x more GPU flops when 360 was actually on par if not ahead last gen

 

PC remains the dominant space for development and creativity... by far

 

And PC dominates Hardware sales :

PC will never have it's years or dominance until games/franchises like gears, uncharted, halo are on it

since PC gaming hardware is at an all time high the answer is : "a lot"

This isn't really fair. A GTX Titan costs twice as much as a PS4, and that's leaving out the costs of processor, motherboard, memory, storage, power, cooling and casing.

So a PC that uses and does justice to a Titan probably costs four times as much.

Last gen the top high end graphics card would also cost twice a X360

Last gen the real cost of a 360 was twice it's price

 

 

See what happened ?

We have mid-range console performance this gen... Console manufacturers anticipated they would be left out of gaming growth.

Gflops, yes we all know that is what determines stable game performance.
PC is the place to be, best place to play Watch dogs at launch right...

I'm planning to upgrade, well just buy a new pc when Star citizen comes out. I'll keep my console for those optimized exclusives and probably multiplats that simply work, and can then be traded in for the next game.
