Thats how I think this gen will turn out.  

-PS4 has too much going for it to not win the vast majority -- most powerfull,  Great 3rd party support, Good AAA exclusives, Great Indy support.

-X1 is clawing it's way back, but is too late to overcome the PS4.  Still will be a success though.  -- Great 3rd party support, Good AAA exclusives, Good indy support.

-Wii U's destiny to do less than well was sadly sealed after it's first year.  Nintindo will continue to support it, but it's lack of 3rd party content will hold it back.  --Amazing AAA exclusives, decent indy support, lowest price tag.

Yup base your theory on VGC numbers that have just on June undertracked Ps4 35% and X1 8% Just in USA. That seems like TheDrill thread because it cherrypick the unprecise numbers favouring the point it want to make.
Let's revisit this when July NPD comes and shipments reports give us a better view.
Anyway Sony doesn't need 50% marketshare to do wonders. It competes with X1 for 3rd parties support and doing 2:1 globally and 3:1 in europe will grant its perks. And for more we love WiiU it have no weight on ps4 sellings
And about the purpouse of the OP. Really great to combat the notion of PS4=Ps2mk2. Are you also going to combat pipedreams of other fanbases and yours own or this isn't about pipedreams but just antagonize Sony? Because it doesn't matter if you say 1000 timesyou aren't downplaying, your actions speaks volumes about it.

X1 alone is doing enough to beat PS4 in the US.
Wii-U takes care of the rest of the world.

Besides wii u + total X1 sales are more than PS4 anyway.

I guess since your thread got locked you came up witha  new goal. X1 + Wii U will beat the PS4 now oka y cool nothing wrong with that. Also the XB1 alone IS NOT doing enough to beat PS4 in US it is still losing heck even the current week numbers show it behind PS4 still and it just lost June NPD. I have no idea why you still stick to this notion that it is doing enough to beat the PS4 in US. The only month I can see it even winning in the US is August and I only say that because sales MIGHT drop if people wait on the White PS4 Destiny bundle in Sept.Holidays will be a toss up for every system.

Also the Wii U is not taking care of the rest of the world it is losing EVERYWHERE outside of Japan and even Japan is not a lock if you ask me. I like you as a poster but some of the stuff you say just doesn't make sense at times.

in the beginning, sony had everything going for them, and you know what? they have been coasting since. if sony weren't coasting all year, maybe ps4 would be outselling xbone and wii u combined, or at least close to it. 

in the end, i believe we are looking at 40%-30%-30% roughly. hardly the second coming of the ps2.

was that better, everyone?

E3 this year was a toss up between sony and nintendo for most people. VERY few people gave xbox the win. Also, look at the numbers. Sony is almost doing the wiiU and xbox one combined. There is no gap closing. The ps4 is now only doing double the sales of the xbox one instead of nearly triple. I wouldn't say that means that rthere is a gap that's closing.

I am really curious to hear your definition of "beating" because the X1 is NOT beating the PS4. Heck, even on VGC, it had PS4 beating the X1 by over 12k from July 12-19. PS4 has been tracking ahead of the X1 24/7 in all major retailers and you still think X1 is beating the PS4 in the US? This is why your thread got closed because you're all talk, but no show. Also, if the X1 is beating the PS4 in the US as you've claimed, why haven't you started a new thread about it?

Not all people in the world are idiots who buy a console without games (only old gen games + lackluster exclusives). If PS4 keeps a mediocre game library, its likely Xbox One and Wii U close the gap (not too much).

For PS4 do a PS2, it needs more games and better exclusives.
