Forums - Nintendo Discussion - I got a feeling: Smash Bros U in 2015, Zelda U in 2016

I feel somewhat confident that Super Smash Bros will be released this fall, perhaps pushed back one or two months for a release in Nov/Dec, but it just can not be delayed any further than that. It's a title that must be released this fall, no matter what for Nintendo. So it will be.

As for Zelda U, well, yes it might actually be delayed until 2016 sad enough. :( Because they will be releasing Hyrule Warriors this fall, so a one year (in-between) the next Zelda installment I think would not bother Nintendo too much really. If they felt they needed to polish the game some extra, or add some more content to it.

What I am hoping for is SSB this fall, together with HW and then Zelda U next fall(Oct-Dec 2015). Achievable it is, but I do also think that Zelda U will be held back one year.

Another questions is, will HW be released this fall or actually Jan-April 2015? I think the game could be delayed too.

So many games are delayed these days. Too many games.

Smash Bros 3DS was not delayed. Sakurai said it would be releasing this summer, and it is indeed releasing this summer.

Zelda must be 2016 considering the game scope, but they may push hard for holidays 2015 due to lack of big hitters like MK/Smash bros for 2015. Smash will come to holiday 2014 because there are no other big titles.



GAMING is not about spending hours to pass/waste our time just for fun,

its a Feeling/Experience about a VIRTUAL WORLD we can never be in real, and realizing some of our dreams (also creating new ones).

So, Feel Emotions, Experience Adventure/Action, Challenge Game, Solve puzzles and Have fun.

PlayStation is about all-round "New experiences" using new IP's to provide great diversity for everyone.

Xbox is always about Online and Shooting.

Nintendo is always about Fun games and milking IP's.

Since there is no concrete release date for Smash, it is possible it could slide into Q1 2015 but doing so would be a huge mistake. So I think I expect it at least by mid December to be out. It's looking more likely, especially since it's an open world Zelda this time around that the release date will get pushed to 2016.

Sakurai already said the 3ds version was pretty much finished, just had to do some balancing or something or the other. More than likely, 3ds games were sparse and Nintendo pushed it closer to the holidays.

Nintendo went from "Winter 2014" to "Holidays 2014" between the Smash Bros. Direct and E3. They bank on Smash being their big holiday game. My guess is Nov21 2014
