Definitely not. It will also sell mostly to people that already own the Xbox One. Most of the Halo fans are also Microsoft fans and they decided to walk the Xbox path a long time ago

Smash will help WiiU about as much as MK did, or it might help a bit more since it will release near the holidays. I still suspect that most of the Smash fans already have a WiiU, although I believe Smash also has a big almost, but not quite, casual following. The type of gamers who only play Nintendo consoles for Smash.

Destiny, Call of Duty, Assassin's Creed. Basically, 3rd party. That's stuff that WiiU doesn't have.

It depends if Smash actually comes out this year for the Wii U. Xbox One can defiantly catch up this holiday with a Halo bundle this holiday and maybe a $50 price cut if sales don't pick up (another price cut is very unlikely). I have a feeling that because Smash was pushed back on the 3Ds that the same will happen for the Wii U version. This would really hurt Nintendo sense this is there big holiday game.

Will it really though? Other than a HD Halo 2 experience, what does it bring to the table which we haven't played in the last 5 or so years? I think it's appeal is limited to the hardcore Halo crowd. Still a large crowd, but maybe not big enough to really move the needle for hardware sales.


I'm really hoping it does well, it is certainly a good way into Halo ready for Halo 5 next year.

Either way it will be an interesting battle between Xbox One and Wii U

well its gonna be a tough battle a long awaited remastered game vs a long awaited fighting game

I doubt it, I can kind of see a Wii U price drop coming though I won't expect it, might not be a big one. Then you have Bayonetta 2 (and one), Hyrule warriors, Smash. Then the retail release and possible Wii U bundle with the Wii Sports club (this is confirmed for Japan at least). You might see the Wii U have a very good increase. I doubt the Xbox One will catch up. Then next year you have Project X, Zelda and Splatoon (yeah, I'll say this one might help) coming in 2015. It is hard to say if the Xbox one will even catch up.

Doubt it, Watch Dogs goes against this entirely, it boosted the PS4 while the X1 didn't even register WD's was released leaving the X1 to get demolished that week when MK8 launched. Tbh I don't see third party titles pushing the X1 at all as long as the PS4 is around.

Yes Xbox One will outsell WiiU this year, the shipments gap will show an ever decreasing gap up to Q ending September where XB1 will overtake.
