If you're going to play "classic" PSO (not PSO2), you might as well get BlueBurst. It's apparently free or super discounted or something. An old high school buddy that i used to play PSO with was telling me about it.

Here's the cool thing about Sylverant private servers is they give you step by step access to their servers and PSO games.. You can get blue burst for free and you can have cross platform play with any version of the game such as Dreamcast, Gamecube, or PC Blue Burst.. It doesn't matter which version you have, everyone can play online together!

Do you have PSO by any chance? You could still get online with the 56K modem that is standard in Dreamcast's

Well written and explained! Expected nothing less from you.

Ah well, I tried such a long time to get my dreamcast online via a PC-DC server, but failed miserably. I'm just no network engineer.

At the poll: Keep the Dream alive, long live the Dreamcast!

I'd never do something like that, but that's some dedication.

It was shut down a long time ago, but there are probably private servers out there.

Yeah, i guess it's that sylverant server mentioned earlier.

Monster Hunter: pissing me off since 2010.

I realise it's only tangentially related to the topic, but...

Am I the only one that thinks that Sega should arrange with Nintendo to have Dreamcast on the Virtual Console for Wii U? After all, not only would the Wii U be able to easily emulate pretty much everything the Dreamcast could do (including the VMU functionality) in terms of controls, internet, etc, but it would also be a great vehicle for revitalisation of certain Sega franchises.

That is a great idea and could be a driving catalyst the Wii U needs to really get it going. Sega could get it's top hitters on the Virtual Console and sinced the Wii U is heralded as the next Dreamcast, the tablet functionality would be a brilliant move to support VMU type gameplay and display!
