To those saying that this will move a ton of consoles too, you really have to look at the history of remakes to see that there is zero chance it makes any huge impact.

Wind Waker - Gamecube 4.6 million / Wii U 1 million

Halo 1 - Xbox 6.4 million / Xbox 360 2.25 million

God of War 1+2 - PS2 8.7 million / PS4 2.3 million.

These remakes time and time again have proven to only sell anywhere from 25 to 40 percent of their original games sales. Even if the Halo Collection exceeds those numbers and does 45 percent of the originals, then we are looking at about 4.8 million in lifetime sales and that is the absolute ceiling. Now you have to take into account all of the other new games that will be released during the holiday season (Super Smash Bros mainly), and Microsoft is just setting themselves up for failure.

Halo AE did 2.25 million and that was one game, this is 4 games with even more content than just that.halo 1 was single player with multiplayer that was essentially just dlc for halo reach. That hurt it's hype, review scores, and sales. If it would have actually had halo 1's multiplayer it would probably be at 3 million or more. Also halo 1 AE didn't get bundled this will be.This is not just 4 games it also has a halo tv show, and a beta to halo 5. I'd reckon the beta will get it an extra 500k-1m game sales. Remember the little game called halo odst. WAit it was actually called halo 3 odst, so it was basically an expansion to halo 3. So had the f@&$ did it sell 6 million copies? I'd bet that reach beta with it sure helped a lot.

idk maybe ur right but even if u are what do expect around 3.5 million? Cause if that's so it will still be a success. That's better than titanfall. I'm anticipating more than 5 million copies. How much more idk if say 7 million is probably the max. Even if it only does 3.5 tho there's still forza, sunset, project spark, and dance central this year alone.

I have no clue exactly how good or bad Microsoft will do this holiday, but what I do know is that Sony / PS4 is ripe for the picking and Microsoft needs to take advantage of that.

I will say this.  If I have a choice between LBP3 or The Halo Collection, I am picking the Halo Collection.  If you throw Smash Bros in that mix too though, then I am picking Smash Bros.     If you put Halo 5 in there then I would be really torn between Halo 5 and Smash Bros, but if it's between a brand spankin new Smash and old Halo games, I don't think it's a tough choice.

Four completely remastered AAA games for $60? Definitely a good deal. I wouldn't buy a Xbox One for it, but if you have an Xbox One you'd be fool not to buy it. Unless you dislike Halo. I thought they would of charged that much just for Halo 2 Anniversary alone.

3&4 is just in 1080p resolution. They didn't remaster anything in them. Only Halo 2 is actualy "new". 1st game is just same anniversary edition from X360.

Wait isn't the last of us essentially only a up Rez. Cause I seem to recall sony saying the ps3 to ps4 version was like going from DVD to blueray.

Halo MCC will sell 5+ million copies(including digital)

halo 5 will sell 10 million copies(including digital)

x1 will pass ps4 in USA, and UK.

I'm a huge Halo fan. I consider the first game to be the single best first-person shooter ever made, and one of the top three games ever made. The sequels are similarly outstanding.

But I have zero interest in this compilation. I own all the games already. And I'm not willing to shell out $60 for four easy-to-find games with prettier graphics and cut scenes, one of which already received an HD face lift, one of which is not yet two years old.

LoU is still a new game, not some game from 2007 and game that was already been sold like Halo 1(for some it will be 3rd copy of the same game). And in LoU they use better textures, more poly models during gameplay. e t.c. Maybe 60$ is too much, but original is 40$ and don't even have DLC like PS4 version. So technicaly it's mora like GOTY edition.

I see ur point. X1 needed something like fallout 4 or a HUGE GAME like that. Not 3 big ones (halo, forza, n sunset). Ya sony is ripe, cause they don't have crap for this year. But with x1 getting the 399 version, releasing in new markets, and better games this year it will do pretty good I think. Would have I liked to see an amazing exclusive (halo is amazing to me I mean look at my profile pic) like a Bethesda or rockstar game or gears yes.

I can for sure understand that point of view but the main selling point for most will be 100+ maps with full matchmaking support for all 4 games on 1 disc.

Its currently impossible to play Halo 1 and 2 online

If this comes bundled for $399 on release, MS has one more sale here. I think the MS conference was solid and look forward to the Halo collection, Sunset OD and Ori (beautiful game). Along with whatever free game with gold that month and likely low prices or discounts on the first year of games, I feel like that would easily justify the purchase.

3/3 Nextgen consoles should complete this fall :D

Forgetting Halo 5 beta

Lol reading through the comments I think people are greatly over estimating the selling power this will have. I will be surprised if this goes over 2-2.5 million in sells and it will move very few consoles. It is a great deal for Halo fans though and I hope you all enjoy it :)

You underestimate Halo + Xbox
