No one has answered this in what I would say was an ample fashion so allow me to help.

Is it easier to get a girl in Japan if you are foreign than your own country? Highly likely

Is the girl you get going to be of a high standard? Highly unlikely

Does being foreign give you a slight benefit as it is an interesting point? Yes

If you are terrible with women is that interesting point enough? No

The thing with Japan is that a low quality girl here is probably still going to be a lot better than a low quality girl in America, Uk, Australia etc. So guys that are bad with women come here, get a pretty bad Japanese girl, but she is still a lot better than them.

If you are bad with women Japan isn't some miracle cure. If you just want a single girlfriend and you aren't too picky then yup you will probably do better than back home. If you want to date attractive women, well your out of luck if you think being foreign is enough. Especially if you don't speak Japanese. Getting girls in a language you speak fluently is easy, when you don't speak the language perfectly? Much more difficult.

Oh and if you are black in Japan, well you can probably sleep with girls quite easily (although expect these girls to have done the rounds usually). There are definetly quite a few girls here that are on the prowl for black guys. A serious relationship? Yea you are probably going to have trouble. If you want some evidence there is a free magazine here called metropolis. The personal ads at the back for men feature a massively dissportionate amount of black men seeking serious relationships.

So yea that's how I sum it up. Getting a girl of quality in Japan if you are foreign is much harder than your own country. Getting a girl who would be considered ok (or as I say oatmeal) in your own coutnry? Easier.

So in conclusion - low standards, only want 1 girlfriend? It's the place for you.
High standards, want to date more than 1 girl? A great place as the girls are incredibly attractive but you will have to put a lot more effort in than back home.
Just want sex? Well there are many many better countries for it.

Oh and don't expect other Japanese girls to not find you creepy if you are that guy just looking for any girl willing to throw themselves at you for being white. One of my friends went to a bar (and she isn't exactly the highest standards) and when I asked how it was her response was ''There were only abnormal foreign guys''. I've also had comments such as ''Wow you aren't like other foreigners, you actually dress well'', ''Hm you aren't creepy like other foreign guys''. So yea Japanese people realise what a lot of western guys are here for.

 That matches my experience. I spent most of my time in the Shinjuku area. I expect that out of the metropolitan area it would be different. Sounds like you know your stuff.
