Forums - Gaming Discussion - 532 Dollar Chromcast that supports Apple and Windows devices

I was roaming the web and came across this nice little device.

http://www.rakuten.com/prod/m2-miracast-dlna-airplay-wifi-display-receiver-dongle-multi-screen/262132681.html?scid=pc_ci_adid25200&adid=25200&listingid=334091953&srccode=cii_35912516&cpncode=27-320215747-2

The device allows you to use Miracast/Airplay in 1080P for 32 bucks.  Using this device with the X1 HDMI in port basically would allow you cast your Windows 8.1 display on your X1 or you could use the Surface Pro/RT Android, Apple and Windows devices that support Miracast(Wi-Direct)

For people that already have a X1 this would be a great and cheap device to basically do what Chromcast does but with wider support.  Since the device will mirror your screen on the X1 you can basically send any type of content including playing your mobile game apps.

Now my wife who hate games but cannot stop playing Candy Crush will be able to stream that game on our 52inch TV in all its pixilated glory.

The ezcast isn't good.. It not streaming good and stuttering a lot..

Face the future.. Gamecenter ID: nikkom_nl (oh no he didn't!!)

500 dollars for an X1, not counting tax of course and 32 for the Miracast dongle.

Hmmm, I will have to look at some reviews.  There are a few others out there to choose from including ones that get a little more expensive.

sounds about $500 too much...

Common, even for you an XB1 should have a value of $1 so that $33 wouldn't be too much

To be honest you do not need the X1 just a TV that has HDMI in

There are countless Miracast adapters that accomplish the same thing as Chromecast and support Android, Windows 8 and Windows Phone 8.1 devices.

For example:

http://the-gadgeteer.com/2014/02/09/belkin-miracast-video-adapter-review/

Miracast gives you the true freedom of mirroring your smartphone/tablet and extending your desktop with Windows 8 without having to worry about app support like Chromecast.
