Forums - Gaming Discussion - Mad Max gets new trailer but pushed back to 2015

The release of Mad Max has been pushed back to 2015.

Unveiled last year at E3, Mad Max was originally planned to come out this year on PC, PlayStation 3, PlayStation 4, Xbox 360 and Xbox One. But after almost a year of not hearing much about the Avalanche Studios-developed titled, Warner Bros. released a new teaser trailer that showcased the 2015 release window.

Late last year, Mad Max senior producer Emil Krafting talked to IGN about the open-world game that's based on the 1979 Australian film starring Mel Gibson. “It is a franchise with a long heritage,” Krafting said at the time. “I mean, I grew up with it, but most of the audience today didn’t. But that doesn’t detract from the fact that this is pretty much what started it all, and we wouldn’t have had games like Fallout, or Rage, or Borderlands if we didn’t have Mad Max.”

Mad Max isn't the only Avalanche Studios game possibly looking at a 2015 release.Reports indicate that the rumored Just Cause 3 may also come out next year.

IGN has reached out to Warner Bros. for comment about the delay.

its amazing just how uninterested people are towards this game.

That trailer doesn't do anything for me. Looks sub par graphically and has a very boring environment. Kind of disappointing when you think that this is the studio that made the beautiful Just Cause 2...This game just looks like an empty desert.

Hopefully the extra dev time will help them.

I think it's justified, all we have seen is two incredibly underwhelming  trailers.  Taking the extra dev time is a good idea because it looks like they're going to need to really work on this to get people hyped.

^ A perfect example of what that guy means when he says todays audience didn't grow up with the movie. What type of environment do you expect exactly in a Mad Max game?

I'm not familiar with the movies, but I am not a fan of the boring, flat colourless environment.

In the movie the barren empty desert landscapes mirrors the distopic broken future society it portraits. Mad Max in any other setting would not be Mad Max.

That's unfortunate, as this does not appeal to me. Sucks, cause I'm a big fan of the studio. Oh well, still got Just Cause 3 to look forward to.

"New" trailer? last year wasn't even a trailer. just a teaser that says nothing about the quality of the game.

Looks kinda crap. Don't forget, people. This is a game based on a movie. So do yourself a favor and don't get your hopes up.
