I don't understand why people are down on Smash DLC. It makes so much sense, I don't understand why people would not want it.

From what I'd gathered looking through this thread, because it should have already been there, and because it'd feel weird. Definitely no flaws with these reasonings!

But they'll be able to better balance the game and selectively add characters that they didn't have time to do otherwise. That's the reason why they're delaying the Wii U version, to make it right. So why couldn't they take the same approach with additional characters and stages a year later. Give the fans more content after they've had time to take a bite out of what's there.

And snuggle the girls be they short or tall,
Then follow young Mat whenever he calls,
To dance with Jak o' the Shadows."

I hope Mario Kart 8 has like another Retro cup about DLC. It would be cool on Smash Bros. too, but I'm not sure what they could do for DLC.

I was being sarcastic with that last sentence! Also I think they're just releasing the games when they're ready, so it makes sense that 3DS version comes first as it takes less effort than HD development.

if i get the whole game (all DLCs) for less than 60$, ok.
supose a 40$ game and a total of 20$ in DLC, no probs.

More stages and characters of course!

I will buy it if it's free.

I guess that means no.

Additional tracks would be cool for Mario Kart but I'd rather the team moved on to developing a new game instead.

Smash Bros doesn't need DLC. It should be a single full package. As with Kart, I'd rather let Sakurai get to work on his next game sooner, or taking some time off if his health is still an issue.

Only if its done right, and so far, I like how Nintendo handle their DLCs

Don’t follow the hype, follow the games

Here a little quote I want for those to keep memorize in your head for this coming next gen.

I don't want DLC for Smash Bros., I want it to be the complete package day 1.

For Mario Kart there may be some possibilities, and I think it could be a great fit if they do it right. They did it to some degree in MKWii, with the "on-disc online competitions" which you cannot access normally like the Galaxy Colosseum or something, so I'd like them to take that to a new level.

I mean dlc as in expansion pack or after though content. Think of StarCraft and StarCraft BroodWar.

Yes, but what I meant with the complete package is that we get everything the game has to offer, day one. It already takes a long time to collect everything in SSB so DLC is unneccesary for that kind of game. Plus like another one pointed out, it will feel weird having characters you paid a premium for along with the usual Mario, Link, Fox etc.

Yep.
