Forums - Gaming Discussion - Why such a huge gap in quality between Playstation and Xbox exclusives?

There are 12 games for PS3 that scored over 90 not including HD collections. Xbox only has 7. If I were to include the games over 80 it'd be even bigger.

Also the huge amount of variety compared to the Xbox is staggering.

Heavenly Rain, Ratchet and Clank, Gran Turismo, Yakuza, Infamous, Killzone, Ni No Kuni, Tales etc

Xbox has had some but most never catch on like Crackdown.

I just it pretty odd seeing as how Xbox is just as popular and it's been around so long now.

did you know that of the three companies sony has the lowest average score on metacritic, with nintendo being number 1? Pls dont hate on microsoft. 

Cause Sony takes more risks with new ip's.

okay look, no doubt the ps3 has better quality story driven exclusives.  I mean naughty dogs games and heavy rain specifically. But Right now the xbox one has better games. Seriously, infamous and killzone are more looks than anything. My friends on playstation would rather play on their pc's and are bored of the system so they are constantly asking me to join them on league of legends and steam. 

I gave you the answer to why Sony has a lower metacritic compared to others, why have you got to rant on about something else?

Yes, pick the "worse" (subjective) exclusive on PS4 and pick the "best"(subjective as well) title on Xbone.

Completely ignore the last gen (which many consider the PS3 to have the best exclusives by a long shot), that is what the OP is talking about, and focus on the 5 month-old platforms that one could argue has no GREAT games as of yet. And a 3rd party one (Respawn)at that.

I also found this interesting. Xbox certainly is lacking a sandbox game like Yakuza for their own, but they have Beautiful Katamari, Lost Odyssey, Project Gotham Racing, Tales, Alan Wake, Dead Rising...

 

Why are you complaining about variety? :P Does Ps3 has any space flight simulator like Project Sylpheed?

It's because Sony likes to buy great 1st party studios that create new IPs geared specifically for the PS HW, which allows them to use the system at its full potential. MS, on the other hand, has a history of buying exclusivity, whether timed or not, from 2nd/3rd party studios. Occasionally they will buy the rights to the IP after it has proven its worth.

Sorry, i may have exaggerated, i meant that we dont see many Heavenly Sword sequels requests while Crackdown teasing on Xbone seems to garner a fair bit of hype. That is what i see and what i would generally consider a fanbase.
