Forums - Gaming Discussion - What Will You Say If Xbox One Games Start Running At 1080p 60fps?

I am curious because many people seem to think Xbox One cannot achieve that level of performance that you see on the Playstation 4?

When Microsoft release their latest SDK (Software Development Kit) Developers will be able to run game at 1080p 60fps.

Here's quote directly from an article.

Will the process become easier over time as understanding of the hardware improves? “Definitely, yeah. They are releasing a new SDK that’s much faster and we will be comfortably running at 1080p on Xbox One. We were worried six months ago and we are not anymore, it’s got better and they are quite comparable machines ".

I believe games being released in 6 months will be performing at that level.

So what will be your reaction if this starts to happen.

Does not mention 60fps

Cool

PC Specs: CPU: 7800X3D || GPU: Strix 4090 || RAM: 32GB DDR5 6000 || Main SSD: WD 2TB SN850

So in six months, xb1 will finally be even with playstation. I knew it. One day, xb1 will be worth the money, so you should buy it today!

Oh and by the way:
Games running in 1080p 60fps has nothing to do with the power of the system and everything to do with the game. The smaller the game's resource requirement, the easier it is to hit 1080/60. Many indie games can run in 1080/60.

EDIT EXAMPLE:

Look at it like this, there is a split in resources for what goes into a game.
Resolution/framespersecond
Environment scale
Gameplay/content
AI
modelling/Textures/

Now say you can set each of these at a scale from 1-10
You only have 30 points to work with.
A game like Ryse would be
8
4
4
4
10

And Dead Rising would be
7
8
7
2
6

All you have to do to make a game 1080/60 is
10
5
6
2
7

Whereas on ps4, you already have an extra 40% of points to allocate to graphics
So that same dead rising game looks like this on ps4
10
8
7
2
10

And if they already aim for highest tier resolution and graphics, they can allocate those additional 8 points somewhere else, so that ryse game looks like this on ps4:
10
4
10
4
10

I would probably say... Who cares

I'm guessing better eSRAM utilization for the frame buffer, doesn't mean the FPS will increase dramatically.

There will still be a difference but it might be even less noticeable than it is right now. Even if the fps and resolution are the same, the Ps4 will still have better texture or better lightning or better AA in most case.

They can always do 1080p@60fps with Xbox 360 quality graphics.

My 8th gen collection

1). It doesn't mention 60FPS.
2). Doesn't mean the games will look equal. PS4 could still get better lighting, more detail etc.

"'bout time I guess".
