Forums - Sony Discussion - PS3 going blue?

if you're like me when ever the box art changes on a system bit odd when look at your collection and see the difference.  The PlayStation 3 went through this already from the vertical PlayStation 3 to the the top band PS3.

So, I wondering is it happening a bit again?

I was checking the NIS America store when i saw this...

This is a pre-order for Mugen Souls Z.  Now if this change is happening I guess it makes sense given Vita games have blue

As well as PlayStation 4 titles

So, has the PS3 changed its look or is this a mess up by NIS on their store?

because of shorter wavelenght....blue scatters more....thus reaching the peoples eyes more than any other color :P

i have phy exam coming up and i am just revising

I wish the PS4 game cases were smaller - like the Vita cases.

It looks sleeker and more modern.

Are you for real? How would you fit bluray disc?

From Amazon, another blue PS3 box art

I think I liked the PS3 boxes more than the PS4s, neutral fitted in any room. My room designed with Black/white/red in mind and blue cases won't look very good, but well bummer.

So it is happening...PS4 preorder.

Greatness Awaits!

God, that Spider-Man font was hideous.

And LOL @ "RIP TECMO"

Expected, the blue is not just for Vita and PS4. It's a Playstation brand change.

Hmmm

All their branding has been blue basically since the PSN outage and their subsequent "rise from the ashes." The box that the PS3 comes in is blue etc

But changing the box art for a third time!?!?!?!?!?!??!?!?!?!?!?

Bad Sony! Especially as if this is real, I'm probably only going to end up with 2 games with, KH II.5 and Persona 5. In my 130+ game collection, not only will I have 2 different box arts, I'll have 3... I'm not hugely impressed even if it does look better and I like the consistency with the PS4 and Vita

What!? I hope not! Not that it's crazy important, but my PS3 collection looks really nice being all one style. Leave PS4's as PS4's, Vita's as Vita's, and PS3's as PS3's. Also, and I doubt it'll be that big a problem because of the actual box colour, but couldn't it also cause some confusion for consumers trying to buy, say a PS4 version of a game and instead they buy a PS3 version and because PS4 isn't backwards compatible they have to return and whatnot.
