How do you treat Game Reviews?

I only look at the score given 29 38.16%

I read the whole review a... 3 3.95%

I read the review and tak... 11 14.47%

I dont look at any review... 11 14.47%

I may flick through some ... 12 15.79%

Total:66

there are 3 types of games for me,

firstly the games that I pretty much always wanted to buy, for those I might look up the score, but won't read the text, as I don't want to be spoiled anything (I avoid trailers etc aswell)

secondly the games that looked quite interesting, but not enough to make me pick them up instantly, for those I read through several reviews/watch video reviews

and thirdly the games that never interested me - if there are big discussions on forums about these or stellar scores I might watch some video reviews , but that's only for a minority of those

I look at reviews to back up why I dont use reviews to make purchasing decisions.

If im interested in the game ill read the reviews. Example being Killer Instinct and reviewers praising the game and considering it one of the best fighters from a gameplay stand point but knocking it for little content at launch.

Then there is games that im not all that interested in, that is when i just pay attention to the score. Lococycle would be an example of that. i saw enough gameplay before release to know that im not interested and the scores just reassure me of that.

Anyways, anything from 70-85 that i see that i wasnt paying attention to before, i will usually start paying attention to them to see if i may like them. Anything i see 90+ i usually end up buying at some point

Depends on the genre for me. If it's a genre I know I like then 65+ meta is ok to buy. If it's a genre I'm not really into then it'll take 85+ meta for me to even consider it.

i dont read them anymore jsut buy what appeals to me visually on the cove rlol

At this point I know what I like in a game. Have not bothered with reviews for years.

I don't.
I learned last gen not to let reviewers think for me, when they recommended me so many garbage games.

I like watching review video's,but not reading them. I pretty much know what I like,so most of the time I'll get a game, regardless of a review score. If I'm on the fence, then I like watching a bunch of review videos,to get a general idea of what the game is about. I don't rely on just one for that purpose.

Once in a while, I'll skim through a review to see if the reviewer mentions the length of them game. Other than that, I avoid them like herpes.

OT, I used to hold reviews and metascores in such high regard, but there were too many games I enjoyed with low metas, and vice versa. I don't really look at them nowadays. When they mention bad things in reviews it just draws my attention to them, diminishing my experience. When they highlight the good parts, it usually spoils the surprise.

How do I decided on a purchase? If I'm a fan of the series, I'll get it without much research, although a bit is required to avoid Paper Mario-like situations. Otherwise I might just watch a brief video of the game. I also look to friends with similar tastes for recommendations.
