Well I'm still exited about the cloud, dedicated servers is something consoles could really need. I'm fed up with that lame peer to peer system the Xbox 360 games mostly (or always?) use.

A game can have both...With regards to ps4, x1 and multiplats the game plays identical on both, with one always looking and runing better. This is a thread about graphics not gameplay, typical strawman argument. Deflection and damage control. |
Damage control for what when I only have a PS4 and have KZ? Yes sorry I enjoy my PS4 but I am not going to downplay other consoles games.
Well they took the Sony PS3 route and now they are learning just like Sony did. Nothing wrong with that...I just hope they come out with some great games and have some great announcements at E3!
The absence of evidence is NOT the evidence of absence...

Microsoft knew what they were doing and they knew it would be controversial. They fixed that but they also need to fix the missing parts of the UI. They also need to make up with games for the dropped title they just replaced with Gears from Black Tusk. Gears of War is already a system seller in my eyes for the Xbox one, but their mind is somewhere else when gaming is where they should be. Targeting an aging audience with cable? Yeah...right.

Yeah. Forza 5 supports 1080p 60fps. Reality is "crystal clear".

lol, that looks super-cheap!!! I can't believe they're still speaking about their stupid cloud as a defense for the lack of power of their console.

I cannot believe you are still spiting this non-sense out... Kinectless Xbox One will not happen; just stop hoping. |
I don't think MS wants to release a Kinectless SKU either but MS is a very practical company so they will ACT somehow in a direction which is not far off. Now let's analyze...
a) They know that XB1 is too expensive currently. Regardless of what they would (politically) claim regarding the value of XB1, people just don't buy it (the claim). A price decrease WILL come. The question is when? Microsoft is also a realistic company, so they won't bring a straightforward price decrease this soon. But they will either price discriminate (perfectly legal) like bundling a free accessory or a game or (and effectively decrease the price by $60 to some), or go by unofficial price discounts (as in Europe) etc...
b) Kinect cannot go away, this would have unprecendented backlash and worse future repercussions. However, they may HIDE the Kinect. In other words, they may integrate the Kinect into the machine, which is both cost saving and more convenient. So I believe there is a good chance we will see an XB1 SKU with an integrated Kinect in the future revision sold for $399. This way, they will both keep the Kinect (and their integrity) by saving money and passing it on to the customers, the main reason for which is to boost the demand.
This way, Kinect will still be on the table for those who exclusively want its functionality but it will not be the focus and so disturbing to those who dislike, and the machine will be cheaper to manufacture as a whole. But we need 1-2 years for this to happen (if any).
Playstation 5 vs XBox Series Market Share Estimates
Regional Analysis (only MS and Sony Consoles)
Europe => XB1 : 23-24 % vs PS4 : 76-77%
N. America => XB1 : 49-52% vs PS4 : 48-51%
Global => XB1 : 32-34% vs PS4 : 66-68%

Not really that it hasnt worked. Its more to do with the SDK wasnt friendly to it. Which is apparantly addressed this month in the new SDK roll out. I guess games releasing this xmas and beyond will tell if the developers are right about Parity.

Again there is no parity..PS4 has a better gpu priod...No amount of anything can change that there will never be parity, hardware is hardware.
