Forums - Sales Discussion - UK Charts Week Ending 15 Feb 2014

FIFA 14 has been knocked off the top of the UK charts by The LEGO Movie Videogame.

Warner’s licensed outing is the sixth LEGO game to reach the UK top spot, with the last being LEGO Batman 2: DC Super Heroes last year.

Chart-Track adds that one eighth of the UK Top 40 is made up of LEGO games, with five different titles appearing in the list.

Square Enix’s new RPG Lightning Returns: Final Fantasy XXIII manages third in its debut week, falling behind Activision’s Call of Duty: Ghosts which clings to second place.

All of which means former chart-topper FIFA 14 has to settle for fourth. EA’s game is followed by Grand Theft Auto V (5th), LEGO Marvel Super Heroes (6th), Battlefield 4 (7th), Assassin’s Creed IV: Black Flag (8yj), Minecraft: Xbox 360 Edition (9th) and Fable: Anniversary (10th).

And when FF fans thought the dark days of FFXIII were consigned to history, and peace and joy has spread once more across the FF fanbase...

...she strikes back!

How much is the RRP for TLoU in UK? it's still pretty high in Poland, maybe a price cut could get it back on the list.

Ohh and PS4 beasting as always, etc. etc.

The leading retailers are still selling it near full price (£40 is considered 'full price')

Amazon / GAME / ShopTo =  £35

Argos / ASDA / Tesco = £40

Sales are going to be crazy when this gets a price drop and/or a GOTY edition.

12 Xbox 360 games (5 in Top 10)
6 XB1 games (0 in Top 10)
8 PS3 games (4 in Top 10)
9 PS4 games (1 in Top 10)

See that, Square Enix? Your flagship title was just outsold by a fucking LEGO game.

One hopes the hint has been taken.

To be fair, it is an AWESOME movie which is the reason the game sold how it did.

we all hope and pray they get the point! but knowing the new SE i doubt

No Danganronpa or Toukiden. I weep (and to my surprise, the former beat out the latter in the Vita-specific charts).

Good performance from LEGO. Bad performance from Final Fantasy. Though, PS3 version > LEGO while 360 version

Lego games are pretty big in the UK though, so I'm not too suprised.

Also, I have no idea what he's talking about in this post (all format by value, wat?) but it sounds extremely positive and therefore I am choosing to be happy with Dangan Ronpa's sales after all.  No despair here.  Onwards to Dangan Ronpa 2!

A week ago almost everybody would have bet The Lego Movie Videogame was going to top the Vita chart. Lego did horrible but Danganropa much better than expected, it is without a doubt the nice surprise of the week. Of course, it is true that its sales are very low (this is PS Vita), but being able to enter into the all formats top 40 (#29) by value is already an achievement. We are talking about a title that is the nichest of the niche distributed by a very small publisher in Europe (NIS America).
