Microsoft’s Xbox Division May be Purchased by Amazon According to Insider

by Giuseppe Nelva (12 minutes ago) 0

Insider Pete Dodd has a pretty good track record with his sources, and today he dropped something quite interesting. According to him Microsoft may be in talks with Amazon to transfer the Xbox One division to the online retailer.

'Two things. Titanfall launch show with @geoffkeighley. Have you announced that yet? Also, xbox bought by Amazon? Bookmark this.'

'The latter isn’t even close to done. If it gets finished at all. But, that’s the scuttlebutt. Do with it what you may.'

'It’s reality. Has been since before the xbox one launch show.'

'The show that is. Microsoft is looking to dump xbox. Am'azon is looking for gaming assets. Talks have started.'

The Titanfall launch show with Geoff Keighley is definitely believable, considering he’s working on a Final Hours feature on the game. The purchase of the Xbox division by Amazon is something I’d take with a sizable pinch of salt. It’s true that there have been insistent rumors lately on a possible spin-off of the Xbox One division, but it definitely generates profits at the moment. Michael Pachter defined the possibility “dumb and dumber.” We’ll have to wait and see who will be proven right.

The PS5 Exists.

Wouldn't surprise me too many voices within Microsoft clamouring for Xbox to be sold, I think MS should stay away from hardware and stick to software.

Proud owner of Ps4/3ds xl/pc/vita/wii u and others.

Gamer till I die

this thread will be interesting.

Lol.. imagine the shaft amazon will give the PS4 on it's own website

I hope it's true. The MS brand and its bad repuation is hurting XBox.

Amazon is the only company besides google and apple able to pull it off. Not because of money but the massive media industry behind them.

For example Samsung couldn't do it.

in my opinion Disney would pull it off, probably even better as well.

What? MS always built hardware and they built very good hardware, too. Mice, keyboards, controllers... Webcams. And all were and are really good, in my opinion.

Only in forums Or let's say this is real: What would've 360 sold without the bad reputation?!

I can't see Disney doing it. They have strict policies for adult content. Releasing a console which practically thrives on mature content wouldn't do them good.
