I like the fact that u can just pick up and play the game unlike galaxy where one mission could take upwards of 10 minutes before u can save. Mario 3d world harkened back to the basics of mario. If I wanted to play a super long game I'd play zelda or metroid

3DW is my favorite 3D Mario game, period. It's better than Galaxy.

Where Galaxy really shined was in presentation and innovation. Jumping planets was amazing, and the theme of Mario Galaxy was better than any other Mario game.

But in gameplay SM3DW is by far the king. A perfect world for me would combine a little 3DW with Galaxy to get a title with outstanding style AND substance. Not that either title was severely lacking in either category.

For me it goes like this.

Galaxy 1 > Sunshine > Mario 3D World > Mario 64 = Galaxy 2 >>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>>> 3D Land

3D Land is by far the worse in the 3D Mario imo, didn't even finish it.

Galaxy, like Mario 64, broke fresh ground and had that epic feeling of a wondrous new world with boundless possibilities.

3D World is more conservative, a fine tuning of an old formula rather than something truly innovative and new. It's still a great game, but Galaxy it ain't.

Sunshine is trash.

the biggest issue with 3D World is that is doesn't reach it's full brilliance until after the final boss.

Sunshine is not trash. It probably has more flaws than any other Mario but it's core gameplay is the most fun in any game I've ever played. Plus it has great graphics and music. Each Mario is different and I love that and I love all of them.

No, any one of the 3D Mario's could be anyone's favorite, they're all very good games. Even Sunshine, which I do find to obvious loser.

Personally I'd say; 64 > Galaxy > Galaxy 2 > 3D World > Sunshine.

Super Mario 3D World is the best 3D Mario in existence, in my opinion. Sheer gameplay brilliance.
