I miss Bomberman. But I miss Hudson Soft in general even more. They were, hands down, one of my favorite developers over the years. I really wish someone like Nintendo had bought Hudson, instead of Konami, who obviously didn't give two shits about the company or their assets. They just absorbed them, killed them off, and they're not even doing anything with all those franchises they now own. It's pathetic, and kinda makes me hate Konami more than I already was beginning to (on account of their now fairly shitty games).

RIP Hudson Soft. Never again shall we probably see the likes of:

Bomberman
Adventure Island
Bonk
Military Madness
Air Zonk
Star Soldier
Neutopia
Alien/Demon Crush
Milon's Secret Castle
Legendary Axe
Gate of Thunder
Dungeon Explorer
Bloody Roar
Kororinpa: Marble Madness
or Lost in Shadow

I didn't realize how ignorant I was to Hudson Soft as a developer....

I haven't heard of most of these franchises; I might try some of them out. Lost in Shadow and Kororinpa look particularly interesting to me.

Id rather they bring back Suikoden first. But yeah Bomberman is awesome.

Aw, I was not even aware they closed. I was wondering why there had not been a Bomberman game made of late. I do hope Konami revive a couple of those series you listed.

I actually enjoyed Hudson Soft's shovelware also that was on Wii, as well as a few WiiWare games.

there are still people playing bomberman live on XBL. Hit me up (superryo) if you want to play some bomberman. Unfortunately Bomberman Battlefest bombed. It had so much potential but the netcode sucked and was laggy as hell and no one plays it.

Konami is not doing much with their own damn franchises so I don't expect them to do anything with Hudson's franchises

Hudson did a good job of supporting the TurboGrafx-16, I would even say Bonk was the third mascot of the 16-bit generation.

Adventure Island is another game series that I remember being good for it's time.

Also, some of the guys from Hudson that worked on the Mario Party games did join Nintendo to form "ND Cube".

@Supepupes

The great thing about Hudson, was that from 1989-1994 or so, they were making games for NES, SNES and GB, while also being the main company supporting TG16. They seriously made probably the best games on Turbo Graphx. You can get Neutopia (1 at least) on Wii Virtual Console, and it and it's sequel are really great Zelda clones. Star Soldier is one of the best shmup series there is. The NES Adventure Island's are amazing, though New Adv. Island on TG16 is really good, and the Bonk games, both the NES port, and the trilogy on TG16, are also great.

There's plenty to love, I'd totally suggest trying more of their catalogue.

@foxtail

Yeah, I'm glad that Nintendo hired several of the Hudson peeps and started Nd Cube. At least the same Mario Party people will live on. However, I'm sad that Nintendo didn't buy Hudson instead of Konami, because Nintendo guaranteed would have had them making at least SOME of their old franchises, like Bomberman.
