Week Ending January 25th
Xbox One - 76,995
Wii U - 42,318
So heres my question for everyone. Will the Wii U start outselling the Xbox One atleast for a few weeks until Titanfall comes out? My opinion is yes for a few reasons. Prior to Pikmin 3's release the Wii U was selling about 20k - 23k per week. Once it released in Japan, console sales nearly tripled, and then it took 7 weeks to bring console sales back to the norm of 7,000 per week. In the U.S. sales nearly doubled but settled back down within 2 weeks. With that being said Pikmin has always seen a 1.5 million seller at the most, while Donkey Kong has always been a 5 million seller at the least. When Wind Waker HD was released the spike was very similar as well, and that was for a remake, which normally sell about 30 percent of their original releases. If Pikmin and Wind Waker can boost sales by 80% then I see no reason why Donkey Kong, which is a much bigger title doesn't have the potential to boost sales by atleast the same if not alot more. I just wanted to see your guys opinions. And yes I do think once Titanfall comes out Xbox One will be selling more then Wii U again, but for atleast 3 or 4 weeks I am fully expecting the Wii U to outsell the Xbox One.
