At this point, I really have no idea. Maybe a cricket game or something?

This ^^^
Unfortunately we end up paying more for consoles and games over here and the recession appears to be hitting us harder. And then you have the fact that the UK has always been a PlayStation nation.
The only thing I can see turning things around would be a drastic price cut.

I thought the UK was an xbox nation?
I think the problem for nintendo is that historiccally, they haven't been good to Europe in terms of bringing great games over so most europeans don't have the nostalgia that sells most of their stuff.

It is possibly the oldest, easily the most profitable, surely the most vicious. It is the only one international in scope. It is the only one in which the profits are reckoned in dollars and the losses in lives"---Maj. Gen. Smedley Butler

Would you say then that the issue is with advertisement? I think, not having FIFA or PES could hurt the market in Europe, but I am not sure because I don't live there. I know than in South America is hurting it. |
There Is hardly any advertising happening over here and hardly any shops I have been In stock Wii U or games for the Wii U.
MARIO KART 8!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Zelda - Breath of the Wild for Nintendo Switch.... Incredable!!!
Actually it's not Europe where it needs to most saving, but in North America. Except for the Wii no Nintendo console has ever sold exceptionally well in Europe, the U.S. has always been the more important market:
Platform: North America Europe
NES: 33.49 8.3
SNES: 22.88 8.15
N64: 20.11 6.35
Gamecube: 12.55 4.44
With previous Nintendo systems the American market was about three times as large as Europe, and with N64 and Gamecube American market was good for about 60% of systems old including Japan.
However if you look at recent weeks, including the holidays(witch should be bigger in the U.S.) sales there are roughly the same as in Europe and Japan. If this trend continues Wii-U wouldn't even make it to 15 million if sales in Europe and Japan would reach Gamecube levels, or stay below 20 million with N64 levels.
Europe is a very different market (too many countries) than US or Japan.
There are cases where Nintendo does well and others where it doesn`t do so well.
Problem is, Wii U has a worldwide problem.
You can say, for exemple, that in Japan it`s lacking RPGs/Anime and other kinds of titles; in the US, it`s missing shooters and the usual sports titles. In Europe, it`s lacking FIFA/PES and racers.
It will be hard for Nintendo to build a strong userbase for Wii U in Europe without sports titles and racers. Other genres are also welcomed (shooters, action/adventure, RPGs).
Maybe you have to make games everyone* (not just you*) desires to play on a somewhat regular basis OP.
Ninty would have to do what they seem incapable of make a new realistic ip.
GT Forza like game, market the hell out of it and it better utilize the pad in a really good way.
