Some places in Asia/Mid-East was launced in Dec 12 and other Dec 17.

20k for Australia + LA + Some Asia lauch + Some Mid-East launch is ridiculous.

I was talking about sold, not what is more readily available.  XBO shows it is more available in america based off numbers.  This is true. There is things you can deduct from numbers and things you hear.  However youre just assuming sony is magically shipping a ton more ps4's because they released in more countries.  Did it ever occur to you that PS4 took away from other countries to ship to these countries like they did with america and europe?

Answer this if you will. What happened when Sony released PS4 in europe?  Did sony get more total sales or about the same?  If it was the same wouldnt it makes sense that Sony divided shipments to both America and Europe?

Considering how well the PS3 has sold in *others* according to VGC over the years, it would seem stupid for Sony to only ship 18-20k. That indeed does seem very low indeed does it not?

As for Brazil, are we really using that as a barometer of how many consoles Sony would ship. Considering their stupid import laws, of course you are not going to ship many there, cause they aint going to sell.

Also on the numbers that Sony said they wanted to sell 5 million by the end of their financials. This was a number they gave that they hoped they would reach. It seems like a reasonable number. Do you think Sony would risk saying we want to sell 6-8 million.. and then it falls flat on its face. Look how bad it looked for Nintendo when they had to keep revising the numbers down from 5 million. Companies generally try to be positively cautious, and I guess after what happened with the vita, I'm sure Sony didn't want to over guess. So do i think they can sell more than 5 million, yes. Do i think they can ship more than 3 million by 31st Dec... yes.

I don't believe Sony will release we have hit 3 million, 4 million updates.. I really believe the next time they say anything about sales it will be when they talk about 5 million sales, as if they hit it early then it will be a positive compared to their suggested sale point.

Anyway guess we shall see soon enough.

Exactly, Sony is the best when it comes to getting their systems into "other" countries. It makes NO sense for them to allocate 20k units for a launch in over a dozen countries.

they ALWAYS staggered their launch over many months previously

PS3 outsold both the Wii and 360 in "others". PSP managed to outsell the DS. Yes, Sony is much better than MS or Nintendo at moving units in "other" countries.

3DS is overtracked by 200k units and the PS4 is undertracked by 300k. Source: me

3DS was way off, but it's numbers did look way off from the start. 300k (in the US) for the second week of december is far from impossible. I actually thought 900k globally was low for 3ds this week. Is it actually tracking below 2012's december so far?

Keep in mind the Wii U got adjusted after Pachter released his predictions but before NPD came out.  It was around 300k before.

Globally the 3DS is down YoY this week, but factoring out Japan (which are numbers we can be pretty confident about), it is slightly up.  Not really saying whether it is under or overtracked, just pointing that out.

I would if i understood the question but I dont.  Point is you are not an analyst.  Youre a random user making assumption and nothing more.  You have not made any post that has shown factual evidence.  You may or may not be right but my guess is that VGC has better "estimations" than you.  

If you want factual numbers wait for sony, npd, etc to make announcements to which VGC will then update their "estimates" to make them more accurate.

The same posts every week saying undertracked/overtracked because i said so without evidence is repetitive and gets old.  For all the people saying this stuff, give the evidence why.  Ive seen more people wrong on these sites than right, we both know that is the truth.  However nobody is ever held accountable for what they say but instead it gets blamed on fanbases when usually it is just a few users.  Everybody in thise thread including me has a good chance of being wrong.

However VGC has a better chance of being right than 99% of us. Unless youre that 1% then offer factual evidence because your post is no more accurate than any other user on this site.

However I will say I do like you Pezus.  Good user, funny, and smart.  Dont think I'm getting on to you, bananaking,kowenicki, or ethomaz.  Simply saying that these type of posts need to start giving evidence rather than just yelling it in every thread weekly.
