No video game has ever changed my life and I doubt any video game ever will, it's just entertainment after all. It's not suppose to be integrated into your real life.

That was once said of books and films

No books or films did that either, I figured things out pretty early, didn't need too much advisements in life, I just see them as entertainment, unless you are talking about text books, which don't count because they are more like manuals.

Fair enough. But the video highlights how, for the guy making the vid: Ellie and Joels relationship started to have him second guess his decision of not having any children.

Then he hasn't thought about it enough and was very narrow sighted to start with since both the options of having children or not having children are equally valid and it's more ideal to go with the flow if you understand the pros and cons as each way to go can be a good life depending on how you treat it. Sounds more like a responsibility issue rather than the issue of rather he wants a kid or not. I find it kind of sad that he has to second guess his life choice based on an influence that's not his own intellect, IMO of course.

I love the game though, and you know this too, I just think it's weird that he's blending that thing into his actual life, like huh?

Naughty Gods definitely delivered with TLoU the Game of the Gen with a huge gap.
Its just a master piece.

Man, now I have to play through it again.....and I've got such a backlog.

That's a rather strange way of looking at it, but here are my thoughts on that matter.

There's a difference between experiencing and thinking about something.  You might think something would work out and that you'd be fine with it, but once you actually experience something you might find that the reality is different.  Whether it is because you find that the perception is different than you expected or whether the reality is different from what you expected.

You might think "Oh well, I can ignore things that are annoying, I can deal with annoying kids."  Well perhaps the reality of it is that you could deal with it for a day, but long term, the persistance becomes more than you can bear.  Or perhaps the reality is that most kids aren't as annoying as you'd expect.

Someone might wonder what it is like to have kids.  Finding out isn't as simple as thinking about it.  Television, books, etc. give little insight in terms of feelings and what to expect.  Whether that is from not having the words to describe the feeling or whether it is from the exaggeration that is often given.

I suspect that whether someone wants to have kids has to do with their experience with kids, not any thought of well it doesn't seem like something I want.  If someone had the experience of a bunch of annoying kids, then they may not want to have kids.  I personally have had a great experience with kids.

I like thinking about things, but actually experiencing something is a whole different cake.  A thought is not a subsitute for an experience.  Though in this case a game is a rather unusual place to have an experience.  But people find all sorts of places for such thoughts.  Thinking must go hand and hand with experience.

Well said!

While TLOU wasn't anything special gameplay-wise, the story and presentation ( specially story) were simply breath-taking. One of the best, if not the best ever in a video game.

I don't know why some people say that, it had amazing melee combat, crafting, scavenging and top notch 3rd person shooting. I have never played a game with as good melee combat as TLOU.

Most if not all are xbox fans lol. The gameplay was outstanding.

For me it is just a game that tries to be a movie that i stopped thinking about when i finished it and moved on to the next game

It doesnt try to be a movie at all.............It simply tells a great story, and also happens to be a great game GASP.   This it's a movie, crap coems from xbox fans.

Maybe its because i am a single father with a young daughter, but playing TLOU was an experience ill never forget. No game or movie has ever touched me emotionally the same way it has.

SPOILERS NEXT!!!!!

When you enter the surgery unit to save her, Everyone talks about going easy on the doctors and a morality choice. Maybe im a homicidal maniac, or maybe i got to a point where i was playing as if she was my girl, but I roasted each one of them with the flame thrower and took great joy in doing so. They were going to hurt her and they needed to suffer for it.. And after the interaction with marlene when joel is in the car, My chest felt like it was going to cave in until i heard Ellie waking up.

I am Torgo, I take care of the place while the master is away.

"Hes the clown that makes the dark side fun.. Torgo!"

Ha.. i won my bet, but i wasnt around to gloat because im on a better forum!  See ya guys on Viz

Everything you experience is integrated into your life.  Unless you're a predetermine robot.

Still don't get why people are all "mind-blown" by this game. The story telling and presentation were good, but that's it.
